  1. Hi, Wondering if you are in Auckland and could tell me which auto electrician you used? Thanks Matt
  2. Following on from Terry, our Bosch S5 battery (575.068) has died after less than 2 years of operation. Once this lockdown is over I'll be claiming a new one under warranty (and opting for a 750CCA one this time).
  3. Sorry for the delay. I've done nothing. Been away from the car for a month.... and saw the other post about the same subject. I hope to start soon.... just nervous about it as the car is used by my wife everyday and I can't get stuck half way through and have the car unlocked/boot dangling open ;o)
  4. I would love a video or document showing all of the above so future generations of Superb owners can convert to gas when their struts fail. ;o)
  5. Heres the one used, but any one that gets power when you turn on the ignition would be fine.
  6. Hi Pete, Sorry to revive an old thread. Our mechanic tried to replace our electric struts with gas struts and said the boot won't shut. Something about the closing mechanism not pulling the boot completely closed. I had a look on the SGS website for gas struts but they have no listing for the Superb. I don't suppose you have the part numbers of yours? Can you also confirm that you didnt need to do any coding or other mods to get them to work? thanks Matt
  7. I'm at the same stage too. I've heard that this conversion has been done before so would be keen to hear from anyone who has done it.
  8. Any update on how this turned out for you Jontypilk?
  9. I'd be very interested in reading/seeing anything you have done. I'm always keen for a bit of DIY.
  10. 225/40/18 Hankook S1 Noble2 92W (otherwise known as the H452)
  11. My experience shows that 38psi front and rear gives more even tyre wear on our car (compared to the suggested pressure). It'll be different for everyone so feel free to experiment within the ranges given here.
  12. my thoughts exactly. Surely there is a market for it. In fact, when I replace mine I'll pull them apart and have a look LOL!
  13. You'll be fine with 4 bikes on the roof. Look at what the French do.....
  14. Interesting! We have the same problem (but with Climatronic), the local AC expert told us the compressor was failing and quoted some horrific sum to fix it. He then unplugged the AC saying it would fail very soon and then we'd need a complete replacement. Considering this was on the hottest day of the year I told my wife to return to the mechanic and tell him to plug it back in. Four months later we still have the same issue but it hasn't failed.
