  1. @gav_is_con I test drove the Performance I ended up purchasing. I did look at a few long ranges but their part ex offer was a lot less than the performance and some garages weren’t even interested in my Superb hence why they offered bottom price. My performance is a 2019 with 37k 1 previous owner. It is immaculate condition for a 5 year old car. I didn’t really use the Superb to its full potential on a daily basis and only needed a big boot for the odd car boot sale or holidays. Yes the Tesla has a smaller boot but I have a 470 litre roof box for holidays anyway. The Superb didn’t have Canton sound. I see it has now sold. Main reason for changing is the Superb cost me nearly £3000 in 18 months on a full service, water pump, heater matrix, new battery, 2 new alloys due to pothole damage and costing nearly £250 a month in fuel! I will miss the Superb as it was the best car I ever had. I’m loving the M3P so far and saving a packet in fuel!
  2. Update: I listed on eBay for £12500 was getting offers of £5k! At that point I took it off sale and part ex it. Now a proud owner of a Tesla M3P The Skoda is for sale here https://www.anchorcars.co.uk/used/cars/skoda/superb/2-0-tsi-sportline-hatchback-5dr-petrol-dsg-4wd-eur-4539
  3. I am thinking of selling my Superb Sportline 280 4x4 and looking for your views on a starting price. It is a MY2017 with 104k currently on a private plate but will go back a 17 plate. I am the second owner and have done 37k in just over 3.5 years. It has full service history all at independent garages using genuine parts. WBAC offer was 7k but no way is it being sold to them! I would have thought it is worth over 10k
  4. @Itsrelfy New battery was installed a few months back. I went and checked the car earlier. One of the back doors was left open (by my kids) but the car did not show the back door open last night but did today. Very strange as it has not done it before. Will check in the dark today all is functioning as it should be.
  5. Evening all I took the car out earlier for a short trip with the kids to see some fireworks. Car ran fine, however when I went to lock the car up the interior light did not come on when opening the door. Then I locked the car and the puddle lights stayed on and the led strip around the dash and doors stayed on. They are still on now over an hour later. The car has never experienced any electrical issues in my 3 years of ownership so I am a little puzzled. I have hardly used the car in the past 6 weeks due to illness. Any help or advise will be much appreciated.
  6. Hello everyone, I wanted to update you all on the only breakdown with my Superb! The coolant tank decided to blow a pipe off and proceeded to fill the coolant system with silica gel! A week in the garage and a new heater matrix and bypass valve and new reservoir and a big dent in my pocket and all fixed. When the water pump was replaced 12 months ago at the price I was charged they should of replaced the reservoir. Lesson learnt! always replace the reservoir tank if it has silica matt on it even if you cannot see the bag of silica! How VAG group have not had legal proceedings against them is beyond me for such a bad design fault!
  7. @Simon TDI Sport Thanks will give it a try tomorrow
  8. Hello all my fellow briskodians. I am looking for some advice on possible fixes for the issue I am experiencing. I recntly purchased an AA Wireless v2 device. Paired my Honor 90 device and experiencing connection issues when I get in the car and start up. Sometimes it will connect and opens maps and streams music from various apps, other times it refuses to connect and I have to restart the phone or unplug / plug the USB to the AA device. I update the firmware on the AA device whenever a new one is available but this makes no difference. Do I need to update the firmware on my audio control unit ? This is like my display: Thanks in advance
  9. @Rooted Just had the full service including DSG oil change + filter, Haldex Oil change + filter (strainer/gauze/filter) clean, brake fluid, spark plugs, pollen filter air filter eng oil + filter for a little over £800 with genuine parts from a Skoda independant specialist. Oh and they checked the brakes are fine and don't need servicing. Compared to the quote from another indy in my original post of £1200 that included "transfer box" and "rear diff" oil. Do these also need servicing as I read a post elsewhere that states these are lifetime and do not need to be serviced which I find hard to beleive! Do I need to worry about the silica bag? as I checked and cannot see one, my water tank does have silica symbol but looks double skinned, I think my car was built May 2017. Thanks in advance
  10. I could not select spark plugs on the Skoda site as not showing, they were last changed at 60k, so not sure if they need doing yet. Front disks and pads only done in 2022, only done 15k since then but agree they need checking. I know the rear disks and pads need doing so will get that done. Will request a full cost breakdown and a full haldex service (where they clean out the filter I beleive) Do I need to worry about the silica bag in the water expansion bottle?
  11. @Rooted This is the link as of now: https://tools.skoda.co.uk/book-a-service-online/#/sk-data/osb I presume filters are included with the oil services, not sure if extended scope includes pollen filter.
  12. My 2017 280 is warning me of an oil service @ 94k. Also aware it will need DSG & Haldex doing at 100k as it was last done at 60k according to previous owner receipts. My indy quoted £1200 for inspection servicing including oil / dsg / haldex / spark plugs / brake fluid / pollen filter including labour. Have just looked on the Skoda website and can have all this excluding spark plugs for less than £700! I think the indy is a bit overpriced in comparison! In my 2.5 years of ownership have only done 30k and had front discs / pads / water pump and 2 oil services. Also just read a post about the silica bag, which mine has but it looks double skinned, should I be worried?
  13. Looking for advice, will VW alloys with 255 45 18 fit my 2017 280 4x4. Not sure of the offset or how to identify the offset. Thanks in advance.
  14. The wheel repair place I took it to refused to repair due to the buckle. They showed me the wheel on the balancing machine and you could see it move right left ever so slightly. They did not check all 4 wheels, only the 2 with MOT advisories, although I suspect 1 of the other 2 wheels might need repairing. I think I will take it elsewhere for a second opinion.
  15. @ItalianJobs Is this still available? One of my 19" Vega is buckled and not repairable
  16. Have been looking at some Audi twin spoke alloys I quite like but just need to check the specs.
  17. Wheel alignment was done last year, there are no signs of unusual tyre wear. The front offside wheel is the buckled wheel, with the nearside rear being the slightly damaged one. Thanks will take a look.
  18. I am experiencing shuddering / vibrating once I hit 50 mph and continues to 70 mph then fades out. I have had all wheels balanced but the shuddering is still there. The MOT was done in the summer with advisories about 2 of the wheels being slightly distorted yet the shuddering was not evident back then, it started about 2 months ago after I hit a pothole. I booked it in today to have the 2 wheels checked / repaired but was told 1 of the wheels can't be repaired due to being buckled (I was shown this on the balancing machine where you can see the wheel moves left to right ever so slightly) and the other is so slightly damaged that attempting to straighten it would damage the wheel. I have 19" Vega alloys and looking like I now need to replace 1 of them to get rid of the shuddering, but the cost of 1 wheel looks to be very expensive. Have looked at a new set of wheels but wanted advice on should I replace the 1 buckled wheel or replace all 4? What wheels do you Briskodian's recommend? and if I go to the trouble of replacing the wheel(s) and the shuddering is still there what else could it be? Thanks in advance.
  19. Here are some photos showing the part number 19-230559. I doubt these are factory fit but I am no mechanic. Does anyone know what the section behind is with the crack, should I get it looked at?
  20. Looking for some advice. I noticed while rear wheels were being balanced yesterday, I have Bilstein shockers, I suspect they were upgraded prior to my ownership, but wanted to check if they are standard or not. I took photos of the label but could not see the whole number, will post the photos later. I noticed when going over speed bumps much more bounce from the front end compared to the rear end. I would like to upgrade the front end too to make the ride a bit firmer.
  21. I was going to view that car in June 2021. I even have photos of it back then with 17,508 miles on the clock!
  22. Hello fellow Briskodians, My 2017 Sportline has wireless phone charging but not wireless Apple Car Play. I recall reading an article in the forum about this being retrofitted but cannot find it. Any help is much appreciated.
  23. I wouldn't touch Brembo Pads, mine rattle in the carrier over uneven roads, having them changed to TRW who make the braking system on the front of my 280 4x4
  24. I had Brembo pads put onto my Superb 280 and they clunk over rough surfaces but don't clunk over the same surface if I apply the brakes slightly. I can even move the pad with ease using just my finger. Car been into my mechanic 3 times since having them fitted and now he is going to change the pads. I told him I wanted TRW as the OEM ones are nearly 3 times the cost but I don't think he likes my opinion!
  25. What is so bad about Brembo? I thought they are fitted from factory to some cars like Porsche? or is it just aftermarket that are rubbish? I remember back 30 years ago driving around in my XR2 Mk1 that Brembo was the best in braking!
