Clunking from front end
Update - the sway bar links have been replaced today, the clunking has almost gone except for driving over very rough surfuces where the clunking is still there. My mechanic suspected something to do with the shockers, so is going to check them next, so car will be going back in. Just annoying all of this happens at the same time the discs and pads are replaced.

Clunking from front end
Another update, seems Brembo pads might be the cause: https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/s3-brake-pads-rattling.399303/

Clunking from front end
Update - I should have mentioned in my OP the car had new front discs and pads only a few days before the clunking started, these were Brembo. Anywhay my mechanic stripped the pads out to check them and could not see anything causing the issue so refitted and we test drove, the clunking is still there so he has ordered sway bar links which will be fitted tomorrow. I questioned why my car would start clunking afetr new discs and pads are fitted and was told when the car is lifted up that it puts stress on other components and this could have damaged the sway bar links. I read somewhere else online that some after market brake pads require a fitting kit, not sure if this is the case with Brembo pads?

Clunking from front end
When driving over uneven surfaces across the road I am hearing what sounds like a clunk/chatter, which sounds like metal to metal. This started 4 days ago and seems to be getting worse. It only happens when I hit an uneven surface across the road when both front wheels hit it. I also have the famous creaking when going over high speeds humps but that is hardly noticeable in comparison to this new clunking. Reading other posts it seems like it could be sway bars or suspension top bushes. Does anyone know what it could be and the fix and if it will be an expensive repair?

Sportline 280 front brakes
My Sportline 280 has just failed the MOT on front pads and discs. The fail report shows pads less than 1.5 mm however I did not see any warning light about the pads, also reported the discs significantly worn. I only had an oil service done 6 weeks ago and the mechanic said the rear discs were rusty on the edge but nothing about the front discs and pads. I read another post about the wear indicator should show well before the pads reach 1.5mm Would my car not have brake pad wear indicators or would they have been omitted the last time they were changed? Car has done 77k so not too bad, but I am annoyed that the MOT history will show a fail! Also on the MOT report are two advisories about 2 of the wheels being slightly distorted, I guess caused by potholes! Would they need replacing or can they be repaired? I am getting brembo discs and pads fitted as they are currently on offer from GSF and much less than what I was quoted for genuine Skoda parts, are these a good choice?

Rear discs replacment
My 280 is at 77k and nearly 5 years old. Again the vast majority must have been with ACC prior to my purchase at 67k, 12 months ago as it is still on the original discs according to the full print out service history. The front discs look fine with a bit of a lip, but the rear discs have rust around the hub. I'm hoping it will go through the MOT fine next week as my last car (VW Passat B8) failed the mot on front discs at 60k and then rear discs at 70k but it was manual and did not have ACC.

Clunking and creaking from rear suspension
I may stage 1 at some point but not sure the OEM brakes are good enough to stop it! I had a stock E90 335d with OEM brakes a few years back and it stopped way better than the 280.

Mirror Dip - Drivers Side ?
If you turn the mirror tilt control to the left then when you put it in reverse it should dip, well my 2017 Sportline does!

Clunking and creaking from rear suspension
@awesome I have noticed though it does seem to be quieter as it warms up. I don't even know if they replaced both front shocks but would expect so. It does sound to be coming from the rear though! I would be interested to know what the typical cost of parts and time to do would be to sort it out so I know what to expect when it goes into the garage! BTW your Superb has an insane amount of power, I bet that is fun!

Clunking and creaking from rear suspension
When I drive on uneven roads I hear a clunking sound from what sounds like the rear passenger side. Car started doing this about 6 weeks ago after getting it back from being repaired after an incident with a deer that ended up bouncing off the front near side wheel area resulting in a new front shocker, wing, headlight and bumper skin. I also hear creaking (since I bought the car last summer) when going over speed humps, but have read about others with this issue, so was going to get that looked at soon. My last car (VW Passat B8) also made the clunking sound from drivers side rear.

Superb 280 mpg realistic
I am seeing about 240 miles to £50 @ £1.45 per litre mix of b roads and a roads and dual carriageways. Onboard comp average is 32 mpg with average speed around 32 mph, during my 200 miles per week commute and 40 miles at the weekend. Was running a Passat B8 Estate 2.0 TDI 150 before so a bit of shock to the system in fuel costs but the Superb puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it!

Brake pad confussion
Have looked at the discs, they are 30 mm wide when new, mine are down to about 26 mm. I could not find the minimum tolerance exactly so not sure if they are within the limits or not.

Brake pad confussion
@Wino the brake fluid was changed 15,000 miles ago. I have all the history that doesn't show discs have ever been replaced but it has had pads all done by an independant garage. The car is on 69,000 now. After the brake fade happened I stopped and checked the discs and they looked scorched in some areas, but the scorch marks faded away after a few hundred miles. The pads have at least 8mm on them by the looks of it.

Brake pad confussion
While on the subject of braking, reading @Camlobe comment of Max temperature/fade I noticed when heavily braking in my 280 there was lots of brake fade which I havent experienced for a number of years, only in low powered company cars I used to rag around when much younger! Both front and rear discs have a few mm lip on the edge so will probably need replacing before next MOT, so am guessing that is why they fade, or they are cheap discs put on by the previous owner!

Sunglass holder / Interior Light dropping down
It is just dropping down at the front. Will have a look at the weekend. Fingers crossed the screws are still there!

Sunglass holder / Interior Light dropping down
I recently had to have a new heated windscreen fitted and ever since the Sunglass holder / Interior Light keeps dropping down. Having looked it doesnt seem to have any visible clips, so am not sure exactly what holds it in. I just push it back in and it stays until I hit another pothole and drops down again. This did not happen before having the new windscreen.

Retrofitting Rear camera
@langers2k Having looked, I can see the reverse camera looks identical to that for an Audi A4, will that fit and are the wiring looms the same between vehicles? I suspect as the Superb is the longest vehicle of them all it wil have to be specific?

Retrofitting Rear camera
Hi, I am also looking to retro fit the reverse camera, happy to do it myself but will need it coding. My Superb Sportline hatch has the rear wiper so at least I have the wash option, just wondering if I would need to purchase the wiring loom too or will it already be there?

Hello from Superb Sportline 280 owner
I just bought my first Superb, a Sportline TSI 280 and am loving it. Having come from a VW Passat TDI 150 the Superb feels a much more prestige car as it is so silky smooth and the road noise is much quieter in comparison.
