  1. Detailing is worth every penny and every second spent during the process.I did my car a few months ago. This was the process: -wash the car very very well -use a clay bar+lube(I used a Optimum kit). After this process many defects of the paint will be seen and the entire paint will feel very very smooth. -use polish. This process is tricky because it's all about what you want from the car.If you have deep scratches and you want all of them gone you need to use a 2-3 step polish which include an abrasive polish and a fine one for finish/shine.But keep in mind that this abrasive polish will remove a lot of clearcoat.I chose to use only a fine polish from Sonax which removed all those swirl marks but left the deep ones and also removed only a small amount of clearcoat. -after this you must wash the entire car again very well to remove all the dush from polishing -the last step involves a paint protect product. You can choose a wax which will give you a very strong shine but will last only about a month,or you can use a polymer sealant which will give you longer protection(up to a year) but won't give you that strong shine.I chose a polymer sealant from Sonax called Nano Lack Protect and I can tell you the result was incredible. I let my car about two weeks without washing it and I can say it was full of dirt and bird crap(sorry but I don't know a word for this),so I went to wash the car.I used only water, pure water and in about 2 minutes the car was like new. Then I used a microfiber cloth to wash it.In 5 minutes the car was dry and clean.I was very very very impressed with the result.
  2. £50 ? :wonder: As mentioned previously, there is no need for adjustment or alignment after you install the new bulb. There is only one position, you just can't go wrong. The only problem is if you try to change the bulb when it's lit,but you must be really stupid to do that, and even then, there is very small chance to get electrocuted as everything is insulated very very well. Also, the voltage is not deadly as they say,28000V it's nothing compared to teaser guns which operate at 300.000-500.000V,the current is deadly(Amperes),not the voltage(volts).
  3. DIY,5 minutes max, easy job. -Pop up the bonnet, remove the round rubber component behind the headlight -disconnect the wires -remove the xenon bulb(I think you are supposed to rotate it) -remove the plastic circle from the old bulb and put it to the next one(you will figure out which one when you get it out) -refit the bulb(only one possible position,so don't worry about mounting it in a wrong one) -plug the connector -put back the rubber component and close the bonnet.

  7. But remember to check "include subfolders" in settings, otherwise it will only play the song at the top of the HDD.
  8. Maybe it's because of the UK laws, maybe they are not legal in UK.You can easily retrofit it,you just need the mirrors and 2 wires for each one,it's a 20 min job. Also,if you want to check if you have it or not, just point something bright, like the phone blitz to that sensor located on the interior mirror. In 2-3 seconds they will be green.
  9. Veloplus it was in the SW part, but don't worry, many people imagine this country as being full of gipsy and bad people. As I traveled the entire Europe, from Norway/UK to Greece I can tell you that Romania is a very beautiful country compared to others..Let me know if I can help you with choose the roads or anything else while in Romania. Indeed it was a great thing the other car was an A6,it had those airbags which made the difference. Actually it was a person from my town driving it.Here taxes are pretty high compared to our salaries. For example for an Audi A6 3.0 TDI from 2004 you have to pay around 3000 euros so that you can legally register/drive it + around 500 euros every year as a tax(not including insurance). So thinking our salaries are around 300-400 euros,it's much easier to drive one already registered in another country,so that's why here you will see many cars from UK and Bulgary.
  10. I remember having the legal speed limit which was 60mph,and then I instantly t-boned him.I also read the police report and the impact speed was indeed around 50-55mph.I still can't seem to find a good explanation why my car looks this good,I can only think that it's just a great car!I also found out 2 other things. The car indeed has the knee airbag(I searched the car but never found it),and the second one is regarding the sunglasses.I was always afraid that airbags might crush the sunglasses and hurt my eyes, but they were intact after the impact. Here are a 2 pictures of the brake marks on the ground(not all are from this accident) and the other car. And this is how my hand looks after one week It's pretty grose,so only click it if you want to. http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/7114/photo2sl.jpg
  11. I also played with these toys until the Columbus gave me that battery warning message. After 2 months I had to replace the battery because it was dead and it's about 100 pounds,so it's better to turn on the engine,it won't overheat and it's like 0.2 gallons/hour.
  12. It was at about 50-55mph,and after the impact I thrown him about 23meters(75feet) according to the police measurements, right on the grass. It was a fraction of a second, someone else avoided him and I saw him when I had about 2-3meters from him,so I couldn't break only a little. In my oppinion the car looks great. The dealer also did some investigation and it looks like the chassis wasn't touched at all,so they will be able to fully repair it.
  13. Indeed,it's pretty sad,he was drunk + the insurance was probably printed at home or something because it turned out it doesn't exist.Right now the car is on it's way to the dealer for repairs and my "full insurance" will pay for it and after that they will sue the other driver to get the money.Overall he is a big trouble, probably a few years in prison plus about 8000 to 10.000 pounds to pay to my insurance company.Regarding the car...it will take a while until full repair,1-2 months, because the entire front axle+everything linked to it is cracked.
  14. Last night while driving I T-boned an Audi A6.He was trying to make an U turn over the continuous marking lines+he was drunk. This is the result! The girl in the other car was a little bit injured, but nothing serious. These front and knee airbag were perfect...almost no scratch beside both my hands and legs being burnt from their explosion. And if you wonder,I am from Romania and the Audi was RHD bought from UK...so be careful when you go to other countries.
  15. Please tell us how can you disable the EGR on Superb via VCDS.From my knowledge,it's only possible on the old 1.9Tdi(like ALH engine),and early 2.0Tdi(EDC-16),but even at those engines,it wasn't a "disable".
