  1. Thanks for your input. I've given up trying to source them and I'll just use my laptop & HDMI cable to play the DVD+R DL discs,
  2. It says that the MG8250 is £500! WTF? They were fleeced if they paid that sort of money, it's never been that price AFAIA.
  3. What's your price range? At the moment PCW are doing the Canon MG5250 which does Wi-Fi connection + CD, Duplex printing & scanning for ~£80. If you want something a little better then have a look at Amazon for either of these two Canon MG 6250 @ ~£134, which has a slightly better CIS scanner & screen or if you want something really good & you have the budget go for the MG8250 @ ~£220, this has a CCD scanner, film scanner + everything else the MG6250 has as well. Just bought the latter + a complete set of inks for £280 after my Pixma 760 ground to a halt after a good 5 years service. NB: If you have a nectar loyalty card don't forget you can get bonus points by having it registered on the nectar website & then go shopping online, I've just got £10 worth of points out of Amazon with all of the shopping I've done with them recently.
  4. I've found that in MS Word 2007, you can just save as "PDF" it's in the save as menu, in the drop down dialogue box below where you tell it what the name of the is to be.
  5. You want something for good for almost nothing. You'll be wanting blood, sweat & tears as well shortly.
  6. My SGS2 went wrong after a mis-flash of ICS (4.0.3) and it was crashing loads of times freezing etc, in the end it got sent back and reset/repaired and returned within a week (excellent) the only thing that really pi$$ed me off was they installed a bog standard battery in it, instead if the high capacity one that was in it when it was sent, which cost me £30 to replace! I would stick with Android as it doesn't have any of the enforced restrictions that an Iphone does. It can swap files including MP3 & Video files, documents etc natively, Most Android phones have radio as well. You don't get radio on the Iphone & can't do BT file sending with an Iphone, you may find you have problems connecting to BT car kits as well. I like the Iphone for its simplicity & clarity, however I am not going to buy one because of Apple's restrictive practices when it comes to using BT to send & receive files & lack of radio.
  7. Already tried them, they have loads of ordinary DVD-R's but none of the DL ones.
  8. I'm trying to back up a couple of films which we have and they are dual layer discs, I've tried to use DVD+R DL discs but the caravan's DVD player doesn't recognize them, not because they are region or © protected I've removed that using DVDFab software, also tried WinXcopy it makes no difference, the discs are still not recognized by the player, yet the house player will play the back up copies! So I'm putting it down to the type of disc that I'm recording the films to. I've tried svp and loads of others but no joy when it comes to getting a spindle pack of these discs.
  9. Chrome on android is really quite buggy, but it's the only browser that I can use a thing called CCLDB on with any decent form of accuracy. Other browsers are a pain when using it. I find that it can freeze without warning doing rotations or pdfs etc, it's highly annoying but most of the time it leaves the competition for dead.
  10. Hi L&G's. I need you help, do any of you know where I can get DVD-R Dual Layer discs in quantities of either 25 or 50, preferably on spindles. If you know somewhere that sells them can you let me know. Many Thanks.
  11. Is it me or does it look a little out of proportion?
  12. cheezemonkhai has hit the proverbial nail squarely on the head there.
  13. Shame it will probably lack the quality you'd be looking for though. I maybe wrong, but those pictures that have appeared in the media look tacky.
  14. Nope. Definitely not for me, the quality and finish just aren't up to par & from the reviews in the press & as the saying goes I'm Out! I have amended my vote as such too.
  15. The Seat looks a darn sight better in quality that the Rapid & looks better externally too.
  16. Do you know what the more I look at it & the more pictures I see of the interior, the more I think it looks cheap & tacky.
  17. I get some stuttering on gear shifts on mine especially when the engine is hot, like after a 150-200 mile drive. I haven't a clue why it's like it. The odd thing is when I get stuck in traffic & it gets hot & I go away, there's no stuttering at all. :wonder:
  18. Dull it might be but it will still have a better residual value after 3 years than a Roomster or Fabia and possibly most low end Octavias too.
  19. You can never buy a bad condition polo... They're always in mint condition!
  20. Put it like this. Can you afford to lose just short of £250 a day (yes that's roughly a days pay) because of weather related problems. That's what it is to me! After all of the difficulties Ive had with this car in the snow and with local roads getting flooded I think it maybe time for a change. I might consider the Rapid, however I'm starting to wonder if the quality of the Rapid is there, also the Octy 3 is nowhere in sight yet, so I am looking elsewhere at the moment.
  21. I can't help thinking that looks cheap tacky & nasty. I mean from the outside it looks fine, but the more pictures I see of the inside the more I dislike it, the more it looks like a low end Ford. Seeing the centre console, the Admunsen Sat Nav display is small and not brilliant, the seats look awful, there's no climate control... Eeerugh.
  22. But who wants to buy something that ugly? You'd have to be mentally challenged to want to buy something as ugly as that!
