if only you were after a swap for a BMW, would of got in the car and driven to the north for this any day!
Thanks, it's a nice BMW you have but more cash than I want to put ontop of mine.
-
Use a jack handle on the knuckle bar and your body weight to swing it, piece of cake unless you're a seven stone junkie.
That's me, however, Jamie has boobs.
-
Nothing's set it stone Steve!
I should add, any mk2 apart from the vrs because they are just awful...
A nice 1.9 PD mk2 or a nice 1.6 CR Monte :p
-
Thanks, Its currently in the for sale section :p
-
I agree with Jamie, they are bloody tight!

Nice wee drop of graphite grease on the bolt head helps
He did :D :sun:

Mole grips and a drill will be more than fine....
just watch the drill doesn't catch it, spin it round and take finger off.

Pretty much yeah, anything over 170bhp sort of area will be needed.
If you think they were fitted standard on a pd150 golf and pd160 cupra, then the manufacturer thinks they are needed for 150bhp.
-
Yeah, i'd say headgasket again also.
Sounds like your quite clued up really, most other options of what it could be have already been done, only thing you never said has been replaced is the water pump but if the temp gauge sits nicley then not likley to be at fault either.

Still plenty of room for the shopping as well!

Im just curious as to what Turbo Active will say reguarding the warranty.
It hasnt been touched or messed with but they usually worm out or any warranty so...
Failed bearing... im expecting "oil pressure problem" to be a reply or somthing similar...

Just a feeler i suppose, I've got my eye on a few cars Im after at the minute so seeing what i get offerd for mine more than anything.
Id want to swap for a Mk2 Fabia with cash either way depending what it is.
So most of you will know the car..
2007 on an 07 plate
Mk1 Fabia special edition number 986
105,000 miles on the clock
Full dealer service history up to 90,000
Getting it MOT'd next week so will have over 12 month since im getting it done early.
Its probably the highest spec special edition with all the extras, satnav, xenon headlights, cruise control, 6cd multichanger, heated seats, leather arm rest, leather interior, factory tint windows etc etc.. and as far as I know, the only special edition out there with heated leather, so you really can't find a higher spec than this one!
Project thread here: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/379950-hutchysrs50-8th-fabia-special-edition/
That will have all the details on basically
everything major is done, Clutch, Dual mass flywheel, Turbo and timing belt all done with new parts.
For rules sake, lets say... £4,000 or swap for a MK2 Fabia

Looks nice and clean. Get that tyre blown up though!
I can do better than that, it got replaced this morning :p
I blew it up the day before and was soft again when i cleaned it yesterday, so blew it up this morning and went to the tyre place, bad news as it had a hole in the side wall
So was no going back, was just replaced, but well spotted

Looks like it needs more tape around that socket!

Looks very nice!
I wonder if they removed the bump strips on the doors before painting it white, then painted them white and put them back on.
looks like a new of the black plastics have also been painted, the reg trim and surround etc...
Looks a great colour though!

I'll be doing mine soon so will be able to check my BLT and report back!

Project is abit slow with 3 other Fabias in my life
Gave it a good clean today ready for its MOT next week, all autoglym products use.
Nice to see the red brakes through the front wheels now as well!
hope to get the rears stripped down and done next week!

Will still look out of place in the middle imo. I'd just ditch it all together TBH and keep the skoda badge in the middle (its got two locating holes behind it mind)
-
Well.. yeah pretty much!
Apart from i want it ready made so no messing around
-
Well logging got similar results but seemed to log slightly better with the time, this is from a lap around the track (it's almost square and quite a large track)
-
Found this one from a polo 9n, should fit the same i suppose!

Thanks, Yeah, its for the false pedal / foot rest on the left hand side of the other pedals.
Like this one for the audi tt, on the left hand side.
MK1 Fabia Special edition *want Mk2 Fabia swap?*

Do you think?
I SORT OF agree, i remember looking at the mk2 and thinking how ugly it was, then they face lifted and added the Monte and i loved it.
Ive got a mk2 already and enjoying that one has made me want to put all my eggs in once basket if you like, id like another one as a project car to stick a nice big GTB on.
Looking at my previous cars, i've had tones of MK1's now simply because they are a great all round car, i've had a stripped out hybrid one, a daily GTB one, sports petrols etc etc.. so whats the next step?
For me i feel a Mk2 is keeping it similar but just more modern, i like the maxi-dot and satnav features better in the mk2 as well as the looks of the mk2 vrs and monte.
I had a similar problem a few year back when i wanted a Fabia that wasnt a Fabia so got an Ibiza FR, only a few years old, low mileage but was awful, worse car ive ever owned!
