  1. That will suck, considering VW have just announced the VW Tiguan R that features a 320BHP TSI... this engine is what the Kodiaq should have surely!?
  2. Thanks, reassuring to hear and makes me want one even more! I’ll get myself in for a test drive as soon as possible. Another concern of mine is that there are rumours of a petrol Kodiaq vRS launching this year and I’d be seriously pee’d off if I spend 30 odd thousand on a diesel only for a 300hp petrol to come out... so that has me hesitating a little!
  3. Brilliant, good figures tbf and I’m sure will make it much punchier. Thanks
  4. Did you remap yours? If so what figures did you see after the map? Thanks
  5. Thanks, I agree I think from what you have said it will satisfy what I am after fairly well and is as good as it’ll get as an affordable all rounder - i.e. ground clearance/ towing capability and sportiness. My issue with the SportLine as people have mentioned is that i am worried it may feel a bit gutless, especially the petrol with less torque! If they did a petrol hybrid I may feel differently, but for now I think this will tick the box!
  6. I think you assumed right, sounds like it will satisfy what I’m after (of course a test drive will seal the deal or not), but I know I wont get mega power, but i just dont want it to feel slow. Additional ride height and spaciousness are equally as high as performance and handling - again I’m not planning to set any lap records with this... but it would be nice to take in on a track... if I really wanted to do so and it sounds like it covers all bases fairly well.
  7. Hi All, Currently have a 2018 Octavia vRS TDi 4x4 and am considering later this year upgrading to a used Kodiaq vRS... however I am just concerned that for 32 odd thousand pound, it’s not going to be as ‘sporty’ as I may want. Does the vRS drive nice at speed on B roads and feel like it has enough power? That is my concern is that I want more practicality and the ability to take it on non-paved roads etc however I also want to retail some sportiness and power! Appreciate your thoughts Thanks Matt
  8. No mention of the new Kodiaq vRS petrol engine?
  9. Looks good, where did you get it from?
  10. Not quite been a week, but I’ve done a few hundred miles and the difference in the DSG I notice is: - Quicker shifts in auto mode (manual mode is same speed shifting) - Optimised shifting points, for example before the map in sport mode I found it held onto the gears for way to long letting the power die before shifting, but now it shifts just after peak boost Those are the only differences I have noticed and as I went for a DSG stage 1 the biggest change is the clutch plate clamping pressure to ensure there is no clutch slip, so more ensuring the longevity of the DSG more than anything. I also like the auto change down etc as it means I can be lazy as junctions and not worry about manually changing down to 1st, this is something you loose on a stage 2 upwards I believe, so stage 1 was good for me. Also MPG is completely unaffected by the remap - 47mpg on a run (on way back from Darkside, Barnsley to Coventry) and 35 around town with a lot of heavy footed spirited driving. So all in all, totally worth it
  11. So I’m fortunate to have access to a small piece of private land and did a 0-60 with launch control today with the map, see vid on link below to YouTube. Obviously with 224 bhp its not a rocket ship from standstill, more the torque and the 2nd/3rd/4th gear pulls is where the magic happens, but its still made a big difference on launch.
  12. Sure thing! So the breakdown is as follows: - Custom Dyno tune = £400 - Gearbox tune = £200 (is discounted if you get both ECU and DSG) This does not include vat, so add your 20% onto that plus some labour charges. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for and these guys have such a good reputation and knowledge of this engine, I was of the opinion that rather safe than sorry!
  13. Thanks, did it all get coded in?
  14. MTwedVRS replied to a post in a topic in Skoda Octavia Mk4 (2020 > )
No... I have it in the mk3 and its disappointing to say the least!
  15. Ah I see, nope nothing else done to it, completely standard. Guess I got lucky and a ‘good’ engine from stock in that sense!
  16. Nope... forgive me but whats a charge pipe?
  17. So I finally got my 2018 Octavia vRS tdi 4x4 remapped by Darkside Developments and I am extremely impressed with the results! Before = 192 bhp & 305 ish ft/lb torque After = 224 bhp & 355 ish ft/lb torque ECU and DSG stage 1 remaps, plus got my Haldex serviced (well needed) and yellow stuff pads fitted and it feels like a new car!
  18. I own a 2018 Octavia vRS 4x4 Tdi, currently on 20200 miles and I decided to have the Haldex serviced (gauze clean and oil change) and good god am I glad I did. As you can see from the pictures the gauze (which on the gen5 is the only accessible/ changeable filter) is completely caked in gunk and to be honest will most definitely been having a negative effect on the 4x4 system. I strongly recommend you service yours at least at 20k intervals - certainly for the gen5, can’t speak for others! Got mine done at Darkside Developments along with a remap but I’m sure most VAG specialists can do it.

  20. Hey, looking to get one of these also... do you have a close up pic of the tow bar flap - does it accommodate the standard factory tow bar + plug etc? Thanks Matt
  21. Hey, do you have a picture of the detachable tow bar and electrics on your car? Thanks
  22. We can dream haha! But yes I’d also place an order for one immediately!
  23. I know... not sure why as it adds nice variance to the range and with a 200hp diesel available would be desirable I’m sure. Also interested to see if the 4x4 vRS has the 200hp diesel, or the same 184 as it has today, not sure why they would keep both engines in the range myself!
  24. I like the look of it... if it didn’t have the fake wood across the dash! Hopefully it comes to the UK!
