  1. Hi everyone, not been here for a while. But it’s great to be back.... So it’s time to say goodbye to my mostly trusty little 62 Plate Fabia greenline estate. He has been a little trooper, (a bit of history now) apart from a massive EGR failure and ridiculous intermittent performance after the emissions update, and with outright lies told to me by the dealer where I bought the car and bit of being ripped off and had me change my dealer, old dealer was bought out by a huge company, sooooooo customer service which was second to none went right out the window. But no he has served me well, and it still amazes me what you can squeeze in the back of a Fabia estate. I’ve ordered me a Monty Estate 1.0 110ps TSI. It’s just time I think but will be sad to say goodbye... Has anyone had any gremlins I should look out for with this car/engine config or thinns to enjoy I didn’t notice on test drive? I’ve test drove the same car in the sexy grey, but it just so happens there was white one ready and waiting at port of exit. So I went for that one. I've read on here a few times that the MK3’s headlights are a bit poor, is that still the case? Has anyone had much experience with this smart link+ / and how well does it work with android? I'm moving from a 1.2 Tdi to a 1.0 petrol, am I going to see a huge drop in mpg? Basically any heads up would be appreciated, as many of you guy are owners and over the years your threads have helped me time and time again with my Octavia and my Fabia, I value what you guys have to say. Thanks everyone, and I hope everyone is well. P.s. Vey sorry for rambling on...
  2. Hi guys. Over the past 5 years I have always changed my Wheels in wintertime to my extra set of steel wheels with winter tyres and ploughed through any snow with ease, when they were on my previous yeti and then Octavia. Of course over recent winters it’s been mild. So during last summer I changed my car to a fabia mk3 Monte Carlo with 17 inch alloys and 215/40/17 tyres and sold my steels and winter boots. And now look what’s happened. The so called beast from the east has literally stopped my car in its tracks. So of course I’m now contemplating new tyres for the future. I’m interested in CrossClimate tyres or Goodyear Vector 4seasons. However, they aren’t available in my tyre size but if I step up a profile to 45 profile, they are available. My question is, is it possible to change the profile without risk of the tyres catching anything.
  3. I had the NOX emission remap in Dec 17, had a number of issues with the car over revving to it all to come to a head today where the turbo has blown and full engine failure. No indication of this. I have been having to do a DPF regen every 2 weeks or so eventually leading to today’s events. I have raised a HUGE complaint with Skoda. Has anyone else had a similar story since the NOX remap or am I one in a million. The fact that the turbo blew, in 5th gear at 70mph on the motorway could have been FATAL. Would be intrigued to see if there are similar stories out there to add fuel to the fire with the claim. VW’s emissions resolution is evidently causing MAJOR issues with our vehicles and need to be held accountable before somebody dies! Please reply with any advice!
  4. Newbie from Bedfordshire

Cheers Steve

  6. koda Rapid Monte Carlo has been re-introduced as Rapid Edition X in India. Soon after its launch in August this year, its sales were halted in the country due to a trademark dispute with the Monte Carlo Fashions, a Punjab-based apparel company. Earlier, the local court of Punjab passed a notice to stop the sales of the new sedan in India. The re-launched product seems to have carried forward all the specs and features from the previously launched model, apart from the nameplate. It is now available for sales in the country and the deliveries of the new sedan are expected to commence soon. The India-bound Skoda Rapid Edition X flaunts the same red shade at the exterior, while the cabin is all-black and finely finished with good quality materials. Upfront, the car features an aggressive front grille finished in the black shade, newly designed headlamps, and a blacked-out roof. It sports dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels, which add spark to the fresh look of the sedan. The all-black interior comes with aluminum scuff plates and flaunts a faux-carbon fiber finished dashboard which offers a touchscreen infotainment system. Moreover, the leather-wrapped steering wheel comes with a red stitch, which adds to its sportiness. The Indian-spec special edition model offers two engine options - petrol and diesel. The petrol variant is powered by a 1.6-litre engine that delivers a maximum power output of 103 bhp against a peak torque of 153 Nm. On the other hand, the diesel version will derive its power from a 1.5-litre engine which produces a maximum power output of 109 bhp and a peak torque of 250 Nm. While the transmission duties of both the variants are taken care by a standard 5-speed manual gearbox, the petrol version comes with an option of 6-speed automatic gearbox and the diesel unit offers an optional 7-speed DSG gearbox. The price of the Rapid Edition X starts from Rs. 10.75 lakh (ex-showroom) and is most likely to compete with the cars of the C-segment sedan in India, which includes Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna.
  7. We are selling our much loved Fabia Monte Carlo as we are going to go down to one car. It's a 1.6tdi manual and has been our pride and joy since we bought it ex demo from Bickerton Skoda in Sheffield four and a half years ago. I'm in Matlock but work near Nottingham. The roof rack isn't included
  8. Monte carlo images/vectors

Hi guys, Anybody got any images or vectors of the monte carlo logo? I'm going to design some side and sunstrips for my fabia monte carlo estate Cheers
  9. Skoda has also showcased the new refreshed Rapid in its sporty Monte Carlo version at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show. Skoda will be intruding the Rapid Monte Carlo trim in the Indian market within 2017.
  10. Hi guys. I've finally gone and done it. Part exed my mk 3 Octavia combo 1.4 tsi for a 16 plate Fabia Monte Carlo 1.2 tsi 90, in black magic pearl with 17 inch alloys, and its fantastic. It's taken a few adjustments to get used to it but I'm so pleased I changed. The engine note is taking some getting used to, being very throaty and vocal. My 1.4 tsi was very quiet. I've also had to drop my speed considerably for the speed bumps on my way to work because my octy straddled them. All in all, I'm very happy with it. Next job is to fit some mud flaps. On another note, I can't seem to get Spotify working on CarPlay. I select a song but nothing plays, but when I check my phone it shows a song playing. Am I doing something wrong ?
  11. Hi Fabia guys. I'm considering trading in my 13 plate Octavia 1.4 tsi for a Fabia. I'm off to look at a few this weekend. I've got my sights set on a Monte Carlo. The one I've seen is a 66 plate 90hp version. There is a 110 version also available at the same place but it's £1000 more, so a little out my reach. So I'm looking for some encouraging words regarding the 90hp car. I know performance wise it isn't a match for my car but 90% of my driving is local and commuting through rush hour traffic. Plus I really don't require a larger car anymore. So is there anything I should look out for ?
  12. hi i want to swap my Swing radio from my 2011 fabia monte carlo black, i have the media box in the passager side, what options do i have any
  13. Hello all, And so we finally have a Fabia Monte Carlo MK3 (16 Plate) 2000 miles after 6 months of searching. Had to be 16 plate so we could stay on £20 tax per year! the wife is most pleased so now we wave goodbye to the citigo. https://video.citnow.com/vxbk7g0jHQJ I wanted to get some mud flaps fitted but the dealer has said they dont fit them to the rear as there is no part no. (they wanted £54 just to put the fronts on!) I have found these links on Superskoda so will do it myself but there are 2 links for the rear ones, some other posts say to use the 'combi' ones. Rear: http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/FABIA-III/Fabia-III-Combi-original-Skoda-mud-flaps-REAR OR http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/FABIA-III/Fabia-III-hatchback-original-Skoda-mud-flaps-REAR Fronts: http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/FABIA-III/Fabia-III-original-Skoda-mud-flaps-FRONT many thanks
  14. Skoda keep phoning the wife saying they have found a way of ending lease term early on the citigo to pave the way for her next car (Monte Carlo Fabia) without us having to clear the finance on the citigo?? She is in one of the those bloom payments at the end, in which you break even and buy (as I did on my VRS) or walk away (give the car back) but this officially ends Feb 2018 (another 11 payments to go).. So last time we checked we owed £1400 sep 2016. This we were told we would have to pay the finance (to get out of) after sitting in skoda for 2 hours... Now skoda are telling her they have found a way around it? Has anyone heard of this?? I don't want to waste my time going into the branch again (as we did last time) We are looking at a Fabia Monte Carlo (2016) Less than 8000 miles which used are around £11K? thanks
  15. Yet another newbie

Hi All Got 2 kids, 2 rabbits and 2 Skodas. Won't go into which i love more but my VRS comes pretty near the top..... I drive a '15 plate, Mk 3, Octavia VRS diesel estate in racing blue (or whatever the official name is). Absolutely love the car especially the toys in it although i do miss the acceleration of my previous Mk 2 petrol VRS so will probably go back to petrol for my next car. a nice 300 bhp VRS would do very nicely. The wife's car is a '13 plate Mk 2 Fabia Monte Carlo in white - 1.2L petrol, 105 PSI which is great for around town but her next car will likely be another brand unless Skoda launch a VRS variant at some point as the engines just not quick enough for her and she doesn't want a larger car. Have been dipping into and out of this forum for a while but never actually registered so good to finally meet you all
  16. Expectant Father!

Hi all, just thought i'd pop in and say Hi!.....so Hi! Fingers crossed, picking up a MY17 Citigo Monte Carlo on 1st March so thought i'd pop in and be nosey. I won't be a complete forum whore though, I'll do my bit and research the forum before posting any dumb ass questions that have probably been asked and answered a billion times! But if I do get stuck, hopefully someone out there might be able to point me in the right direction. Anyway, enough waffle, hope to see you guys around! Cheers Calvin
  17. Sasha's Citigo Monte Carlo

Good evening :) Tody was an exciting day as I have put a deposit on this little monster! I drove one on Sunday (driven a few before and know someone with a red 63 plate S model) and decided to go for one. I initially wanted the colour edition as there is a good deal going ATM but the branch manager couldn't get on the group stock network yesterday so I left it and went back after work today to see what they had. As it was they had this Monte Carlo in the showroom and all the extra toys it has including the small leather pack and chrome door handles which make all the touch points much more premium feeling I decided to go for this one in white so the car in the pictures is officially mine now, although in some respects it's a shame it's not an MY17 with the new lights and DAB radio and I'm on the fence with the PID as I haven't used one yet, would rather have the phone holder as I think my big iPhone 6S Plus might be better than the PID but I'm getting it free so I'm not overly fussed, I want the trip computer, gauges, phone and media more than the nav though so I'm looking forward to having music options rather than a broken device my Grandmother reliably informs me is called a tape player. I should be collecting it Friday all being well ready to give it a proper detail and protection over the weekend. Simply put they knocked a fair few £££ off and with the £1000 deposit contribution and £500 fuel card it was worth it and I won't have to wait (I hate waiting!). Plans so far are simple LED DRL's Paint callipers red and drums black Order rubber mats and boot mat Order mudflaps for at least the back (maybe front as well) Order boot side carpet from Germany Possibilities to come include Variable boot floor Cruise control if possible Maybe wrap the roof black Otherwise just use it for the next 3.5 years. It will be a nice upgrade from my £95 2002 Fiat Punto lol, have been using that a few months since I sold my last 'decent' car, my Volvo C30 T5. With now being in Uni it makes sense to have something cheap but nicer than the Fiat which is pretty foul. I am surprised how well the 60ps Citigo drives compared to how I remember my 230ps Volvo going!! Looking forward to getting to know the car and I'm not the only Skoda owner in the family either, my mother has a 14 plate Fabia TDi and my brother a 51 plate Fabia SDi so I'll be around and about. Cheers :D

  20. 2012-2013 Fabia Monte Carlo Brochure

Does anyone have the link to the 2012-2013 brochure that contains the Monte Carlo? Obviously they only have the new model brochure for download on the Skoda site.. thanks...
  21. I'm thinking of getting a 1.2 Fabia Monte Carlo when i pass my driving test (aged 39) ideally i'd like the Tech version, in either black or red...i posted in the Citigo forum, as that was the car i looked into first, but the extra seat, bigger engine and better looks have led me here... Can't wait...
  22. was going to get a Citigo but.....

I was going to get a Citigo Monte Carlo when i'd passed my test, but now i seem to be leaning towards a 1.2 Fabia Monte Carlo...insurance wise there's not too much difference and depending on age, mileage there's not too much difference in price...i would prefer a Fabia with the new black badges, but i guess they could always be added later?? I'm 39 and ideally a 5 door car would be suited, and maybe 5 seats...(not sure really) with never have driven before i'm not sure who my passengers are gonna be, apart from my 13 year old son and me!! and maybe picking/dropping my sister and niece up (with car seat) or my mum and dad from the pub!!! hmmm??? decisions, decisions!!!!
  23. Hi to all Picked up my 2013 Monte Carlo Diesel Estate last week. Easy to drive, easy to park, compared to the Mondeo Estate I had previously anyway. So quite happy so far. Only grumble I have is that the lights are, not putting it too mildly, not very bright and Norfolk country lanes at night are black as pitch. So I got myself some upgrades and fitted them this afternoon. The bloke who designed the engine bay needs a thick ear. How on earth are you supposed to get at the lights to change the bulbs? The left hand one is not too bad, there is about an inch of clearance to get your fingers in but no decent purchase to twist the bulb anti-clockwise to remove it. So I did it after a few tries and scraped my knuckles for my efforts. It is slightly worse on the right hand side because they thought, I know, let's stuff the fuel filter in that little space there, right behind the light unit leaving no room at all to get to the bulb. After loosening the retaining bolts on the filter I managed to do it but Skoda mechanics must have double jointed wrists I reckon. I used to work on Minis in the seventies and eighties so I thought I was used to confined spaces. Anyway, rant over, this is a great site, loads of info. Thanks very much. So, who would have thought it, Trump in the Whitehouse, makes Brexit look like a pretty minor faux pas by comparison. Cheers Andy
  24. I have a Skoda (OEM) spare wheel set for sale due to selling my Mk2 Fabia Monte Black Edition. The wheel has never been used and comes with the jack etc.. I'll upload a few pictures tonight as well as the Skoda part number. The price is £ 110.00 but I am open to offers.
  25. Hi all, I'm selling my November 2014 Skoda Fabia Black Edition 1.2 TSI (105) as I’ve purchased a Fiesta ST. As you may already know, the Black Edition was a last hurrah for the MK2 Fabia and comes with a very good spec. Please see the included kit below; Black pearlescent paint Sports body kit (as Monte Carlo spec) 17" black painted alloys Touch screen sat-nav with 8 speaker stereo,CD player and iPod (MDI) connection (including MDI cable) (Amundsen + unit) DAB Radio Bluetooth Maxi-Dot Instrument Computer (this can display general car health information, sat-nav instructions, cd/radio/iPod music listing and phone information) Traction Control Front heated sports/bucket seats - silver and grey seat trim Spare wheel & space saver puncture kit (foam & compressor) Front and rear window deflectors (Skoda accessory) The car still has over three years of the manufacturer’s warranty remaining as I brought the Skoda five year option when the car was new (warranty expiry date: November 2019). I am the second owner but the car was offered to me as a 'pre-reg' special by the main dealer. It had only 11 miles on the clock when i brought it. It has been serviced by a Skoda dealer since new (the second service was completed recently). It drives brilliantly for a small 1.2 turbo - it feels like a 1.8! My average MPG is 48-52. I have taken very good care of this car and I'm only selling it for the ST200. I have only ever used high octane fuel (Shell V-Power etc.) and just treated it to a nano wax sealant and polish for the winter months! Apart from a tiny dent (bump) on the passenger door, the car is in an excellent 'like new' condition inside and out. I haven't repaired the dent as the paint surface wasn't damaged - it was done by a bicycle wheel! However, Skoda has quoted me roughly £ 200.00 to pull the dent out. It's so minor that it can only be seen when looking at the paint reflection (please refer to the final picture). The current mileage is 24,100 (mostly motorway miles) - this will increase slightly as the vehicle is used daily. Please note, the car is currently on a finance agreement but this will be paid off in full before the car is sold. For a quick sale, the car is advertised at £ 7995.00 ONO. All interested parties please pm me or either contact me on 07912 974237 or at craig1988@hotmail.co.uk . I am located near Southend in Essex.
