  1. Hi, My rapid has done 11.5K on the ODO. My friend recently pointed out that there is grinding noise when I steer my vehicle. It is very mild until you notice. This is more evident with increased weight in the car. Also, right from the time of purchase the steering has been a bit tight. Any one else faced the same issue or come across it?
  2. Timing belt tensioner

Hello, I am the owner of a 2014 SKODA RAPID 1.2 tsi. i bought the car in May 2017 from a Skoda dealer under the impression it was a an approved used Skoda and subject to a 12 month warranty. However I have now found it is not an approved used Skoda! over the last few months the vehcile has spluttered on start and therefore I dropped into the dealer to check over. i was then informed the vehcile requires a timing belt tensioner fitted. This is a known fault and subject to a technical product information (TPI). But as the vehicle was only subject to a 6 month warranty I would be liable for full repair bill £255. as the vehicle was only just out of warranty I appealed this charge and was basically told tough luck. After going around the houses making complaints to both the dealer and Skoda UK they offered me as a good Will gesture a whole £22 discount of the work!!!!! 30% discount on the parts. Obviously I told them no, given the car has 30000 on the clock and I’ve owned for less than 12 months. Furthermore since going into the garage the EPS has come on and is now in low power/limp mode and therefore I can not drive it! Firstly anyone had similar issues?. If so how did it end? Is is this a common fault? and is the price of £255, sorry £233 with their amazing discount a fair price? Thanks in advance

  5. koda Rapid Monte Carlo has been re-introduced as Rapid Edition X in India. Soon after its launch in August this year, its sales were halted in the country due to a trademark dispute with the Monte Carlo Fashions, a Punjab-based apparel company. Earlier, the local court of Punjab passed a notice to stop the sales of the new sedan in India. The re-launched product seems to have carried forward all the specs and features from the previously launched model, apart from the nameplate. It is now available for sales in the country and the deliveries of the new sedan are expected to commence soon. The India-bound Skoda Rapid Edition X flaunts the same red shade at the exterior, while the cabin is all-black and finely finished with good quality materials. Upfront, the car features an aggressive front grille finished in the black shade, newly designed headlamps, and a blacked-out roof. It sports dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels, which add spark to the fresh look of the sedan. The all-black interior comes with aluminum scuff plates and flaunts a faux-carbon fiber finished dashboard which offers a touchscreen infotainment system. Moreover, the leather-wrapped steering wheel comes with a red stitch, which adds to its sportiness. The Indian-spec special edition model offers two engine options - petrol and diesel. The petrol variant is powered by a 1.6-litre engine that delivers a maximum power output of 103 bhp against a peak torque of 153 Nm. On the other hand, the diesel version will derive its power from a 1.5-litre engine which produces a maximum power output of 109 bhp and a peak torque of 250 Nm. While the transmission duties of both the variants are taken care by a standard 5-speed manual gearbox, the petrol version comes with an option of 6-speed automatic gearbox and the diesel unit offers an optional 7-speed DSG gearbox. The price of the Rapid Edition X starts from Rs. 10.75 lakh (ex-showroom) and is most likely to compete with the cars of the C-segment sedan in India, which includes Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna.
  6. Skoda has also showcased the new refreshed Rapid in its sporty Monte Carlo version at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show. Skoda will be intruding the Rapid Monte Carlo trim in the Indian market within 2017.
  7. India, Hyderabad. 28/06/2017. My Skoda Rapid was showing glow bulb symbol and immediately I stopped the vehicle and called the customer care. The customer care person said no need to tow the vehicle and I can drive 30-40 kms with low speed and AC off. I did the same and reached home. Two days later the service person took the car. Next day the service person called and said there is a problem with the fuel injectors and I need to replace them at a cost of INR 1 lakh. I was really surprised because the vehicle had gone to servicing twice in the past one month and the last was two days ago. But now there is such a huge problem. Having my own doubts on the service station, I called Skoda customer care. Next day the service person said they are trying to cover it under warranty and asked me to wait. 2 weeks later the service person sent an email saying the cost would be INR 2.5 lakhs. Another week went by trying to catch hold of the Skoda customer support person. Customer support lady says this is normal wear and tear because the vehicle is 5 years old and 70k kms. I had driven 4 cars earlier to this and never seen or heard anyone spending 2.5 lakhs / 1 lakh for Engine wear and tear. I can understand Tyres, Battery, Glass and plastic items. A little time spent on google will tell you that Skoda has faulty Fuel Injectors mostly for vehicles manufactured before 2012 in India and most of them are Rapid. Now they have left the customers to fend for themselves. Indian management have killed the brand VW and Skoda.

The New Skoda Rapid has launched the mid-size sedan in the late 2016 in the Indian market against some of its strong contenders like the recently launched Honda City, Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Volkswagen Vento. 11. Hi..INDIA

Hi, I am looking for help on skoda Rapid Headlight assembly. Thanks,
  12. Hi there Have my Rapid for nearly 10 months now and at first it didn't bother me too much but now would like to know if it's a known or unknown issue. Basically, when I have my pen drive to play mp3, I suspect the system is adding a marker/protection onto the pen drive. Because when I wanted to add new mp3 to the pen drive; the car doesn't see the new additional files. just the previous set. The only way round it was reformat the pen drive and transfer the previous set of mp3 plus additional new ones to it before plugging it back in the car when it 'locks' it. Anyone find that strange? There isn't much info about this problem. Wrote an email to Skoda today if they know anything about it but also checking here if anyone has a solution to the problem. Thanks in advance
