However he has now signed Dan Cammish - most definitely a winner, but has never raced FWD.

Cammish signing appeared to happen after Dynamics negotiations with Matt JACKSON broke down.  Matt has now been dumped by Motorbase apparently as a result of going after the Honda drive.

 

So once again, a top level BTCC team has a spare seat and is looking for a lead driver, this time for the Focus.

Seriously though, if you were a long time driver for a team that could win races but not a championship, and a works Honda, BMW or Subaru squad came calling what would you do?  You'd at least investigate the situation regardless of your current contract status.

 

The difference this year at Motorbase is the proven winners already signed for the other 2 cars, as opposed to the make-weights they normally run.  If Chilton and Tordoff weren't already on board, I doubt the boss would have been so keen to dump Jackson.

 

Indeed Sam Tordoff was signed up the day before Mat got the push.

Last year the Subarus qualified positions 19 22(Sutton) 27 31. And Sutton gained grand total of 0 zero points from the 3 races.

 

This year 18(Sutton) 29 31 - the car is slow again. This time Plato got the 0 points.

 

Anyway, on this weeks evidence the new Honda is terrible too, Norlin are probably running 5 year old Civics and are still faster in race trim.

 

I'd say Ingram, Turkington, Morgan and Sutton are the best out there this week. Neal and Plato look even more past it than they did last year.

 

Mind you, after those 3 races it should be compulsory to have a damp track at BTCC meetings

Just caught up with Donington, great racing but aren't the old guard are looking past it, apart from Turk who's having terrible reliability instead.

 

Flash has gone, Plato should retire, Neal getting battered by his rookie team-mate, Collard and Jordan not getting any decent results.

 

The new age is here, Ingram, Morgan and all the others are going to give us a great title fight.

I rewatched that, Josh Cook had to miss the chicane to avoid an accident. He clearly had the faster car.

 

Honda do well at Thruxton as its a handling circuit and the Hondas carry speed through the bends

 

I think I'll have to book tickets for Snetterton and Knockhill

Just watched Croft, and the championship suddenly has all the Usual Suspects at the top again.  It's taken half a season but Turk Neal and Jordan are in the top four.  Of the youngsters that dominated the early rounds only Ingram is staying the pace (in the Toyota that must be the oldest NGTC car out there - the first NGTC prototype was an Avensis back in 2010)

Did  you know that the minimum weight of a BTCC car including driver is 1,280kg before success ballast is added. Due to air restrictors they each produce about 370bhp from their 2.0litre turbo engines,

BTCC down to 30 cars next year. Alan Gow thought 32 was too many.

 

Also the HMS Alfa team are not racing next year.

 

Eurotech look to have gone too.
