Removing Rear Tow Bar

Recommended Posts

I am interested in buying a used Superb II but it has a tow bar fitted. I would have no use for a tow bar and I think it detracts from the elegant looks of the car. Is it easy and cheap to remove it or should I just learn to live with it ?

If no rear crash beam then if it is removable you could take off the ball section, if not then unbolt it. Third option would be to buy a new rear crash beam, install that and put the old set up on fleabay.

Fourth option: Go to a workshop that mounts a lot of tow bars on Superbs. The chances will be very high that they have a lot of those crash beams lying around in their waste bin...
