Get a trailer, you'll be surprised what you can carry, even a bit of firewood

Is that the fastest 1.4 in the west?  - when not towing of course ;-)

One day soon we'll hear about BMW owners being complimented on their Skodas!!

The guy who designed the Octavia is now the head of design at BMW so it may actually happen soon.... B)

I think we will sooner hear BMW owners complaining about the new facelift designs for their fronts :)

Not glossy pics, but important ones!

New boots all round! Much quieter now.

We'll have to see on the handling over time once they're scrubbed in a little.

What did you have on previously? Probably go with F1 AS3 to replace my Conti Sport 5s

Bought the car in May with Firestones on the front and, I suspect, the original Bridgestones on the back.

The Bridgestones were nearly done (advisory) & the Firestones were a few thousand miles from done. I told the selling dealer to leave them so I could change all four at the same time.

How  much rim protection is on the Asymmetric 3?

Some. Not as much as on my Mk2 with the same tyres.

The Mk3 wheels do seem to jut out.

The tyres definitely have a decent rim protection ridge, but it seems that the wheel design eats into about half of it.

Edit: see this pic, will help give you an idea.

The Assy 3s were £307 delivered (for 4) through Tyreleader.

My dealer ended up fitting them for free as they were behind today and a one hour predicted job became two and a half hours. Long wait but worth it in the end.

Take a look at Michelin's current range if a BIG rim protector is important to you. The PS4's have awesome performance & at £107 a corner in Costco, there isn't a lot more "bang for buck" around

@themanwithnoaimIs that for 19s?  I would hope 18s would be less at Costco?

No 18s, 19s get stupidly expensive which is why mine will reside in the shed, I refurbed a set of 18 Gemini's in glossy black finish to run

Yeah, I remember you saying. I think the 19s look a bit wrong - nice size, fill the arches etc, but the design is off. See the Rallye Green car I posted on the FL pics thread today.

18s on a de-badged stealth 245 is going to be very cool indeed! I look forward to the pics.

Anyone fitted 19" Vega (Superb Sportline) alloys to a vRS? Any pics would be appreciated.

This was a mockup of the fl-vRS before it was released. Should give you an idea. Personally, I think it looks ace.
