Been to the stealers yesterday, Octavia 3 is going up in price as from January 1st of £400.00 and the very limited and getting smaller metallic paint options are going up £50.00.

Edited to fix typo not 4k.

Octavia Hatch - up £320

Octavia Estate - up £325

Estate vRS TDI DSG - up £450

Metallic - up £30 (£525)

£4,000 may be a bit extreme

Those pesky "Stealers" eh?

Always trying to make a quick £4k here and there

£4000? Not a chance. If that happens i'd be able to sell mine for more than I paid for it! I wouldn't be surprised if they increase by a few hundred quid as demand clearly exceeds supply but over a 15% increase could only be expected by those greedy parasites in the energy, insurance or baking industries. No way I say!

Ha. Now that makes sense. Thanks for clearing up the confusion :whew:

Wouldn't have surprised me a £4000 price increase, be a way of reducing orders for a while so the factory can catch up; mind knowing SUK they would leave it in place, even after things have calmed down

On a more serious note, they should introduce a few more free colours before raising the cost of 'premium' paint further.

Any word on the 0% finance for the New Year, ok £320 is only 1.5% but its still 320 quid of anybodies money and its not a steal, deal or even the sale of Fn century but, the removal of the 0% finance is way closer to the £4k price increase idly thrown away by the only "stealer" to pass comment.

Huh, anyone ?

tell you what...mine is due for delivery end of Feb. Will sell it to you for £33k! That saves you a whole £1000 on what your dealer is offering. ;)

Regarding the 0%, nothing confirmed yet - if I was to make a guess I would like to think it would stay but that is only my comment not from the powers that be.

There was no mention of 0% in the OP's post, hence no comment passed.

On SUK web page looks like the rear backrest release function as become an option not standard on Elegance and vRS estates although not showing on configurator yet.......

Rear backrest release button from boot             £80.00

'Goods' tend to be offered for their real value despite promotions. Do we think that half price sofa was ever intended to be sold for £2000? Of course not, the price paid is its true value.  When the 0% ends it will be replaced with VAT free, some other promotion or simply be offered at a greater 'discount' without too much haggling. To this extent, the price we pay, and the profit the dealer gets are pretty much constant regardless of the promotions on offer.  As consumers, we just need to see beyond the smoke and mirrors and realise that we will get what we pay for.

That's been shown as an option before even though it's always been standard. Either way it's pointless as you still to go in through the rear door to fold the seat down after you've released it so might as well use the normal ones on the seat.

I put this through Google translate (sales peak to English)

"Place your order now please as I need the bonus..."

Interesting that the Combi vRS TDi DSG is going up by the most, possibly reflecting its popularity judging by the "where is my car" threads on here.

Been told by my dealer that it is a 3% increase from next year. But obviously if the order is placed before then the price stands until delivered

I'd very much doubt the 0% is being dropped.

If it is there will be another incentive to replace it.

Skodas are too expensive IMO without some form of incentive.

It helps the dealers shift them.

I was told the 0% with servicing was being dropped from yeti and vrs. Whether that means 0% without servicing will be available I don't know.

Just got this from Carwow:

We wanted to let you know that Skoda are making the following changes to their offers from 1st January 2014:

  • Price increase across all models.
  • Withdrawal of 3 years free servicing when purchasing on Skoda Finance.
  • Withdrawal of 0% APR on Octavia vRS and all Yeti models.

You can avoid these changes by placing an order on or before the 31st December 2013, even if delivery of the car isn't until later.

All the offers you have received on carwow so far are still valid, but will not be after the 31st December 2013.

Any questions please do ask, or get in touch with the dealers who have quoted you by logging in to your dashboard:

I just posted same in another thread.... Time to get the order in quick! Or is it a ploy or will it be replaced with something else, like 'VAT FREE'?

They might leave them at normal prices for a while (albeit with bigger discounts for good hagglers) to see how they sell and reduce the build delays. It's not really an offer if it's on all the time anyway.

My opinion above still stands. My dealer called today to tell me that my car is in Grimsby and told me of the prince increase, loss of interest free credit and 'changes' to the servicing offer. When I asked what the next promotion was he just laughed.

My bet is they'll clear the massive backlog then offer VAT free by Easter when sales dry up. The cars, although good are just not worth the new list without some incentive.

It will certainly cost them a vRS sale to me if its taken off the 0% deal. As a low deposit PCP customer even re-instating 20% off wouldn't benefit me. I can't see them doing VAT free anytime soon as it will damage residuals which in turn will make the PCP deals more expensive anyway.

Its a shame I'm not quite ready to order but hey ho....

I'd better make a decision soon! Are there any dealers open between Xmas & New Years?........

It's a big purchase, it needs to be the right one.  I honestly think that the price you pay is pretty similar regardless of offers.  When 0% goes, you could no doubt negotiate bigger discounts to compensate and make the monthly payments very similar.

If I'd managed to see a hatchback vRS in the flesh I might be ready to make the commitment but every dealer close to me has nothing but race blue estates!
