How to turn a crisis into a drama!

 

Has a Trained & Qualified VW Group Technician with experience of Twinchargers looked at the car and done a diagnosis.

As far as i see in the thread it is just one error after another.

Blind leading the blind. Mechanics that are just not familiar with the engine if they are mechanics.

Sshh, let him sell it, I'll transport it to Tech1e and it will be fixed in 5mins :P

?

Is the engine gubbed or not. 

How can you replace with a used engine when there is nobody around that has even diagnosed the fault with the current engine.

 

A CTHE does not just go in instead of a CAVE on the original ECU without someone with the Software update that needs used, 

and as for the Replacement engines being CTHE when the original was a CAVE & supplied by Skoda / VW, when it says that on the paperwork it is the case, 

not seen paperwork yet that shows it though.

also just a quick input to your crisis when my blow of valve went faulty on my vrs, when i replaced the solonoid valve which was faulty it would not dump! i was absolutely baffled , it needed to be rebooted in VCDS by clearing all the DTC so if your has a major fault code on your ECU , your ECU wont turn over the engine in fear of breaking it , that would be my first step getting it plugged into VCDS

car sounded like it wanted to start the other day but wouldn't...next plan of action is wait for @vrs19td to come up with his vcds to see if he can pick anything up failing that going to local Skoda garage. :)

Hi have you fixed the car yet ? 

 

Ive had several problems with mine but running sweet ATM  

 

my coil pack failed after remap 

 

18 months ago I had a new dsg gearbox as gears 1&5 jammed and totally buggered the box 

 

then recently was in limp mode and the water pump was the fault

We noticed that #09 kept coming back as faulty and strangly it's a Reverse Switch or something like that, which is located under the air filter so going to whip that off and have a look and get a price for it. So I'd say we're a step closer.

Do you know anyone with stage 2 mods as I'm thinking of doing them but not sure if it's worth it as mine is putting out 225hp already ? 

 

Think i I got a lucky one out the factory

Speak to Ant-VRS he had a Fabia VRS (bow Octavia VRS) but I can't remember if he went that far with it

i have an airtec intercooler and itg maxogen also running forge blow of valve, i highly doubt your vrs is running 225 bhp without a turbo upgrade and intercooler upgrade those temps would be too much for the little pathetic intercooler the vrs comes as OEM to handle and you would 100 percent get heatsoak

So the car went in to Skoda on tuesday left it for a day and they ran a diagnostics and also done a compression test, and came back with no compression for cylinders 2, 3 & 4 they quoted me a new engine at £4,000 i told them leave it i'll have it towed back. so up for sale PM me a price and if the car doesn't go as a whole i will then split it.

Yeah I'm really gutted to tell the truth one of my favourite cars i have owned. 

Looking at a winter hack and a motorbike for the summer :)

So got myself a 17yr old Escort.....van 1.8D :giggle: done 77400 miles not been clocked couple dents but it's expected will do for now.

 

i will leave all my tutotirals up as I've been told they have helped several people and i'll leave this up for memories.

 

Who knows I might get another Skoda in the near future.

Just picked up a blue 2016 monte 110DSG, really impressed with the looks, not a VRS power wise, but really impressed on the smoothness of it, cosmetically very nice. Low tax if you go for 2016 as well one day.

 

My VRS just a bonus run around now, enjoyed all the reads on here, a sad end, hopefully there will be a 'Monte VRS MK3' one day for us to learn about
