Buying a used Octavia 2 pre FL 1.9 pd 105

Hello,

  I tried to search around the forum for what i was looking and wasn't able to find, so finally decided to Post.

 

I own a Octavia Mk1 1.9 tdi ALH 90hp . Which is serving me well without any problems. 

 

But the there are two things which i miss in the Mk1, Rear Space (Long highway rides with Family) and Braking .  My car is a basic version in India (rider) which comes without a ABS. So here goes by actual question

 

Braking is better on the Mk2 ? I think Yes ! 

How much better is the Rear Seat Space (legroom) in the Mk2 than the Mk1 ?

Did the Rear Space increase after the FL ?

should i look for a pre FL or the FL version. What are the Advantages of the FL over the pre-FL? 

 

And i read that 1.9 pd is a reliable Engine. Is that true  ? Or should i check out the 2.0 CR 110 hp engine ?
