Good deal with helpful (and patient) sales staff. Even the MD appeared and showed an interest in my intention to purchase a car. Real personal service from sales staff. Car too new to require a service but a snag with drivers seat was attended to immediately. I now know why there are so many Skoda's in this area.

Tried this dealer after disenchantment with local ( Aberdeen ) one .

Nice people , salesman suggested Fabia 1.4tdi would more than meet my needs - he was right - nice people - great car

After slow service in my more local dealer I came here and within days had my car ordered up. Great staff, really attentive to individual needs, really went out of their way to make it work for me. Also had a great chat with the MD too, very personable guy!!! If your local to this area and have a choice I'd recommend Thompson & Potter Ltd Burrelton over other local dealers in this area any day!

Good luck!

I pass T&P most days going to or from work.

Absolutely no pressure to buy, in fact when it came to doing a deal I had to prompt Alan to sell the car to me.

Very odd dealing with this very laid back approach after years of fending off feral salesmen at Arnold Clark etc.

Must be doing something right, they've been selling 3 cars a day for the last 2 months.

Also a Morgan dealer if that's your bag.

Picked up my vRS Octy on Saturday. All went well with the exchange but the valet job on the car was **** poor. Outside was dusty. Wheels were caked in brake dust (guy bringing it back from the valet site had been having a play I think), interior was dusty all over and dirty around the radio console where it had been replaced at the depot.

Only 1 key was delivered (Skoda's fault I suppose no the dealer) some confusion over whether the car is on variable or fixed servicing (should be fixed with the 3yr free servicing, I'll get it checked when the new key gets programmed).

As with most people that comment here my experience of this dealership was excellent. The staff are helpful and friendly and even though I turned up 5 minutes before closing they stayed open late to let me have a test drive. There is no hard sell or pressure to buy. I did buy in the end and the staff(Alan) was as helpful after I had agreed to buy as before. I would recommend this dealer to anybody.

Since buying the car my estimation of T&P has gone down somewhat.

I filled in the Skoda online questionnaire and included a complaint about the state of the car on delivery. Next time I was in the franchise to drop off the spare key for my trade in and some documents I was greeted with "I suppose thats a list of complaints?".

Yesterday I noticed that one of the rear wheels was missing a locking wheel nut. Now I've only has the car 2 weeks really and another 2 weeks was in the secure Q-park at Glasgow airport. The most likely explanation was that it hadn't been fitted.

I phoned them up on Sunday and was told to come in. So this morning I go in.

They deny any wrong doing and that anything like that would be picked up in PDI (IMHO for most PDI's you lucky if you have 4 wheels). They alledge someone had tried to nick my wheels! But surely if you can remove a secure wheel nut without marking the wheel (and this would be the only nut touched the rest still have the plastic caps) then nabbing the wheel would be child's play.

So they said since it was "Your word against ours" they would supply a new set of locking wheel nuts.

She then asked if I had washed the car, I said I'd only had it a month and two weeks of that were in a secure car park, to which she replied ,"You would say that"

Now no matter even if you think the customer is pulling a fast one (and I'm not) if you have no evidence and you are going to supply the parts why would you sit and have a pop at the customer.

I'll take the wheel nuts thank you but that will be the last time I go into T&P and I'll consider a letter to the MD.

I'm eagerly awaiting 3yr now when I go back to a friendly independent dealer. Maybe the free servicing isn't worth it?

Well, game them a visit yesterday. Easy to see why they have such a good reputation :)

Car was booked in at 4, I turned up at half 3, expecting to have to wait for a bit. Someone was straight out to the car almost as soon as I handed the keys over

Offered me tea and coffee while I waited, car was put on the computer and checked for any faults, and a visual healthcheck

Much much better service than my local dealer. I know where my hard earned will be going from now on. Keep up the good work

1st time I had dealt with Thomson and Potter when I decided to change my car to a Skoda 1.9td Fabia Elegance Estate after reading owners reports. I sold my previous car privately, so I called in and spoke to Alan Mauchline the Sales Manager. I knew exactly the colour plus all the extras I wanted and took in the list with me.

Because of the Spec with factory fitted extras,Alan said it would have to be a Factory special order. However since he had an Estate on order he would contact them to see if the colour and specs could be changed. This he did and also took the list of Dealer fitted accessories. Alan couldn't have been more helpful and kept me in the picture regarding delivery.

Pre-delivery checks were all perfect and Alan even collected me from my home since their was no direct bus service to the dealers. On collection, he went over all the details of the car and fitted accessories with me. The car has been superb since collection on 1st September with the engine torque fantastic. I have not been back since collecting the car but when I do I am sure the aftersales service will be just as good!

I know what you mean.

They were ok the last time I was in. Car was in for it's first variable (although they hadn't set the car to fixed when new like they were supposed to). Variable was done for free after a short discussion with Skoda UK.

I've had no dealings with them other than the other post here. No warranty work required so far.

Well What can I say but - The Thompson and Potter are Excellent - everyone knows you, they always do their best to help out, offer advice and they know what they are doing. Your are always made very welcome and give a First Class +++++++ Service.

There is never a feeling of being ripped off - I've never come across any pushy staff, they give you plenty of time to make a decision. There is always a cuppa on offer ...........and ..

After buying Skoda's from THOMPSON & POTTER for 22 Years why would I give up on a 'family type service' for some horrid impersonal mega big company.

Just replaced the Octy L&K with an all singing and dancing Superb Elegance with extras galore. Many thanks to all the team, especially salesman Michael who made sure that the car was perfect in every way.

Top marks again for great personal service from a dealership who show genuine enthusiasm for their cars and their customers.

I spent nearly a year visiting Thomson and Potter between my first sighting of a Yeti there and taking delivery of my own one. You were always made to feel welcome with drinks offered and a chance to try out their demonstrators. The salesman I dealt with, Michael, knew the products well and there was never any attempt to push you into a sale. When I was ready to buy he sourced a vehicle for me very quickly, the dealer fit options were added and the vehicle was well prepared for collection.

Thomson and Potter is a small garage situated in a small village. The staff have been there for a number of years. They provide a high quality personal service to their customers. Their challenge will be to deal with the extra business caused by the failure of the nearest Skoda dealer in Dundee, 18 miles away.

I switched to T & P after years of being given less than average service by ************* - who I only went to as they were so close to home - the change is incredible.

The staff at T & P couldn't be more helpful and they are great to deal with - no more having to repeat everything when booking in for a service as they actually took notes when I booked it on the phone. Whereas NF tried to stiff me for a new set of brakes and pads at around 50k T & P still tell me I don't need them at 95k!

Based on my experience with them so far I can't recommend them highly enough.

Have an Octavia Scout 2.0TDI CR on order, buying process with Michael @ T & P was hassle free, and I believe I got an excellent deal with vat off the car and all the accessories I specified. Michael is the kind of salesman I like to deal with, he actually listens to what you want rather than going into hard sell mode the minute you walk through the door.

The only problem with my order is that delivery was first promised to be early October but now that has stretched out to Mid December. Does anyone know why such a delay?? Michael has only been told due to delays at the factory??

Really excited about this car having read all the online info I can get hold of !! Haven't seen anything negative really at all.

Just bought a Fabia 1.2 TSI Monte Carlo from T+P in Burrelton. My partner and i had both a great buying experience, both Alan and Eddie were very informative and relaxed.

We decided that the showroom Monte was sufficient to our needs, once we decided to make the purchase the car was ready for us to drive away only a matter of hours later.

First Class.

I've had work done on my Mk1 Fabia VRS by the lads and lasses at T&P a few times now.

I'm always greeted with a smile and in fact many of their staff now know me by name. (A really nice touch).

The service is professional, the coffee is awesome and everybody at the dealership is helpful and friendly. I cannot recommend them enough.

A great example of the great work they do is this:

I bought my car from Arnold Clark in Edinburgh a couple of years back and had a service plan thrown in. As part of the service plan, they offer a free safety check on the car whenever you drop it in.

After a service they gave me a call and told me that the nearside rear spring was gubbed. The quote to replace it was £220 plus the cost of a courtesy car. That seemed a bit steep to me, so I called T&P Skoda (they are closer to my work than Arnold Clark anyway). T&P quoted me just over £100 including a courtesy car for the night - an absolute bargain considering that they used genuine parts.

In short, these guys saved me a heap of money and left me smiling after paying the bill (that doesn't happen often)!

Needless to say, the rest of the servicing and any work I need done is going through Thomson and Potter - absolutely 5 star.

They are now based in Edinburgh Road in Perth, opposite the prison - well worth a visit!

Not very good really replacing the one spring rather than a pair. IMO..

(Maybe the car had already had only one replaced on the other side, under the Skoda thing of only repair the broken part.)

But that is the kind of thing you get with Thomson & Potter part of the John Clark Group.

Skoda Specialist cars, Dundee, Aberdeen and now Perth.

(Autoeccose are now in the former T&P premises in Burrelton.)
