I've used this garage for about 5 or 6 years now and the service is always second to none.

friendly and polite staff who always strive to help. the mot examiner explains very clearly for non-mechanical heads like myself which is helpfull. wouldnt go anywhere else.

After no problem organising a lengthy test drive, we ordered our Yeti Elegance 2.0 CR 170 4x4 on 29th June and collected it last Saturday, 8th September. Scott was extremely helpful, responded to phone calls and emails and it was a pleasure to deal with him and Bob.

Would recommend them..

Well, have dropped the car off here this morning for it's first variable service.....caught a bit short as when I bought the car 2 months ago from Specialist Cars Dundee, it was showing 6800 miles to go, now, 2,300 miles later it needs a service - after phoning Specialist Cars, apparently the extra 4,500 miles worth of use is all my fault because of my driving style blah blah blah......so, not going there for a service as it's miles away, they defintely weren't interested and I don't like being talked to like I'm a tw*t!

Anyway, these guys in Stirling came up as my nearest dealer so thought I'd take the chance......courtesy car arranged no problem, drop off and collection of courtesy car was very slick. I did notice that they can arrange a collection and drop off within 15 miles......might consider it, when I eventually trust someone to drive my car....

Will post back when the car comes back.......was quoted £149......watch this space!

OK, so things seemed to go well! Was phoned to advise me that the car was ready to pick up, service had been completed and that they had identified a couple of items that would be resolved under the warranty!

Dropped off the courtesy car, went through the items needing replaced and booked it in for 21st to have the work carried out. Was asked if I needed a courtesy car - so that's been dealt with now!

All went well unitl I was asked for more than I was quoted initially - 9% more! I questioned this and referenced what I had been quoted, price was adjusted without any more conversation!

The girl on service reception - Rebeca - was the same person I initally booked the car in with and obtained the price from. Other than the error on price, she was helpful and friendly and explained everything that had been done (apparently she started last week....on the day I phoned to book the car in).

When I got back to the car, it had been washed, but not hoovered....wasn;t too bad anyway! The service book - a replacement VW one had been completed and stamped (I never checked when I got the car that it had one in fairness). Next service is shown in 20,000 miles time or 2 years. Hmmm, need to check what's become of the variable servicing... If it's not apparent soon I'll ask in two weeks when it's in next.

Overall, I found them helpful and friendly, so would have no worries about going back there based on this experience!

Follow up - car dropped off for the warranty work identified during the service. Courtesy car provided, no hassle and called about lunchtime to say the car was ready - horn for alarm replaced and near side front wheel bearing.

One thing I have noticed separately is this variable servicing.....suspect it's tosh, or I drive the Skoda like a maniac (and no ,not convinced of the latter!)! Was re set at my service about 700 miles ago, service book have being stamped up to show 2 years or 20000miles.....having only done 700 miles, the car is now telling me I have 11000miles to go before I need a service......is it just me or is this a money making scheme for servicing establishments????

its been set to fixed instead of variable get the dealer to do it correctly.

Well, it seems to be counting down miles and hours now, so I assume that it's on variable. To me this seems to be a license to print money though as you have to service the car as and when the 'sensors tell you', rather than on a set mileage.......justification of it coming round sooner than expected seems to be "ah, it's your driving style mate......"

On the lighter side of the news, the car chirps far more loudly now when you lock it etc......so I can easily see that they have replaced one part under warranty!!

fixed servicing also counts down just like variable servicing but if its counting down from 12,000 or less you will be on fixed servicing. they have re-set it wrong just like many dealers. if you want variable servicing take it back to them and get them to change it correctly.

Ah, cheers for that!!

Just thought I'd update this thread, car has just been in for it's second service......and apparently it's on variable! Car has just passed 28,000 miles, so managed 15,000 miles in it snce last service....so maybe I don't drive like a total looney!

No bother booking the car in and was given a courtesy car without any bother - a Rapid TDI. Nice enought to potter about in....but was looking forward to getting my Octy back!!

Picked the car up, £227 all in  - no issues noted. Didn't get washed this time (I'd held off getting my car washed hoping they'd do it....oh well).

Otherwise, nice, friendly service and all went according to plan! Now I'll need to see what to do about the car's 3rd birthday coming up, MOT looming and expiration of the warranty.....

I went to them to buy my vRS, unfortunately there prices were too expensive, went to Linwood Arnorld Clark in Paisley MUCH cheaper and got additional items added as well.

I have bought all my 5 Skodas from this dealer. I recently moved from Falkirk to the North West coast and returned to Bannockburn in Feb to buy another Skoda from them I find them knowledgable, friendly and customer orientated.

Just had my Yeti serviced here today on a Skoda service plan. All went very well, I was given a Citigo monte carlo as a courtesy car as they expected my car would be in all day. However I was called two hours later to say my car was ready. I had a two hour drive each way to/from where I was staying so they prioritised me which was a nice touch. Very courteous and helpful staff. I would recommend them.

Just got a new 17 plate Skoda Superb SE L Executive estate from this garage. Sales man David King was first class. Gave a good deal and was very helpful. I changed my delivery date a couple of times and this was dealt with without problem.

Hopefully I won't be needing the workshops except for services, the first two of which were added in as part of my deal so at present can't comment on them. I will update this thread as and when I use the workshops.

For the second time, they've been unable to give me the deal I was looking for - West End in Edinburgh got the first one and now Arnold Clark in Edinburgh have got me the second one.

Initially I was corresponding by email as I hadn't had the chance to get into the branch. I was quoted way more on a PCP than I wanted to pay. I asked, by email, if they could do any better and was met with silence. If the salesman had asked me to call into the branch to discuss then I would've gone in at the first opportunity but he didn't. I emailed again and again nothing.

Thing is that the car I wanted was at the storage compound in Germany and is the one that is on it's way to AC on Seafield Road as we speak. It was an easy sale, I knew exactly what I wanted and the car was available so they'd have got their money quickly.

I'd have preferred to have been able to buy locally but there you go.

I used them with my last car for servicing and for spare parts and they were really good. I've gone with the 2 services offer so if it's a Skoda one and not an AC one then I will still take my car to them to give them the work - not that the garage as a whole deserve it but I'd rather a 15 minute drive for a service than a 1 hour one

Just updating this thread.  As per above, West End ran the Skoda franchise at Bannockburn until a few months ago (they moved to a new showroom in Stirling). Newmarket garage is now run by Kilgannon Motors - a local indi garage who've expanded their business.

Haven't used West End for servicing so can't comment but used Kilgannon for a simple oil change on our other car ( because main dealers weren't interested in just an oil change). Had absolutely no problem whatsoever with Kilgannon, they did the job they said they'd do at the price they quoted and the car was ready when they said it would be. I'd recommend them.
