Wel had a look into the brake issue the is evening. I to the pads out to find the bottom piston had seized. So after spraying it up with some lube I got it freed and checked it over. It's now sliding fine, if it sticks again I'll get them sent off to be be refurbished and power coated.

While I was at I cleaned the caliper up, cleaned and copper slipped the bolts and pads. And the squeaking noise is now gone :)

However when doing the brakes I noticed the inner CV joint gator had come off and thrown it's grease everywhere. I repacked it and cable tied it on but I'm pretty sure this is where the clicking/scraping noise is coming from when I'm braking at low speeds. I'll have to get a new one ordered up when I finish the turbo swap on the other fabia.

Met up with Gee this evening to get the gauges fitted (buy a car from him and he offers a aftercare service lol)

After an hour or so Gee had taken the interior apart to get tho the wires, rewired them in and put everything back together.

I need to get a adapter block for the oil temp and pressure but Gee showed me where they all connect up too in the engine bay but the boost gauge is fully working and showing a healthy 25 psi :)

Gee fitting them.

On the way home today I gave it some off a roundabout and as soon as I hit boost a loud whoosh and a noise I can only relate to a whoopie cushion.

Looked at my boost gauge and nothing, so boost leak. After a slow drive home I took out the glove and found this

So a quick fix and it's all good and boosting fine.

Great car, great pics :)

Shame about the dent. Some people are just really out of order :(

Strange place to get damage though!

Thanks mate. Yeah it is strange the rear bumpers untouched which I find strange. Once the damage is sorted I'll be refurbishing the wheels either silver, anthracite or white.

So yesterday when I got to work I went to close the passes window, went up a few inches then snap followed by the glass disappearing into the door.

So after taking an extended lunch break I ended up with this

19277039123_131e827143_c.jpg

and found one of the runners snapped in half and the pulley wheel was snapped in places so the cables weren't secured.

I've ordered a second hand door panel complete with the window regulator and judging by the picture on the eBay it's got the newer metal runners.

Realising I couldn't drive around with the window open and not a fan of gaffer tape all round the window, I did a bodge. Plank of wood wedged in to hold the window up. And a rubble sack to stop water getting into the car with the loom taped on the out side. Simple but effective lol.

Gutted about the dent in your quarter :(

Must have hit it pretty hard to dent it like that, as that's a pretty strong area.

ref the oil temp, the sensor needs to go in the sump somewhere, I've got mine in sump plug.

How geeman had it fitted before is a waste of time, as it was at a dead end it would never give you accurate readings ;)

Oh really, I'm new to gauges lol. Can you post up the bits you used on yours. Any idea on where to put the pressure sensor?

Thats the sump plug for temp, on Draft42 site is the relocation kit I used for pressure sender, think geeman had the required parts on the car for the pressure gauge?

pressure gauge can go in a dead end pipe, oil temperature needs to either sit in the sump or have oil flowing over it. :)

Great read so far.

Even tho I am sooo envious [emoji12]

I swear I almost cried 6when i found out this was sold.

While reading up on this car I really wanted to know what it was like to drive from someone else's point of view and I think you nailed it.

Thanks mate.

I saw it girst when Gee first advertised it and resisted. Then checked back a month later, saw it still for sale and the next day I'd put a deposit on it lol.

It's a fun car, need better tyres as it currently on chinese £30 tyres and the sticky piston has come back.....also I'm used to the power now so tempted by a gtb turbo but must resist.

Use to the power already?[emoji33]

That was quick.lol

I actually put mine up for sale in a momment of madness but kinda came to my senses.

My opening line was "selling to buy Gee's fabia"lol

Well when you drive 600 miles a week you get used to things quickly lol.

I did see that post. I almost bought bossfoxs old SE when it was for sale but me and the owner both changed our minds. I'm glad I held out though, this is the exact spec I wanted.

Sooo there's a chance the car might be up for sale in a month or so, starting a new job soon and I'll have to see what the miles will be like but I'm very tempted by a r32 GTR.

At the weekend a friend and me swapped cars and after we both kept saying how much we liked each others cars.

20665580522_46a5ba6036_z.jpg

225 bhp vs 395 bhp lol.

So I've had a knocking on the front left for a week or so, and the top mount was visably moving so yesterday I took the strut out and swapped it over.

20632703136_59e218dfde_z.jpg

Just because lol.

20038004713_d2d87dc9e3_z.jpg

20658951535_5b6919d2e0_z.jpg

With that swapped over I noticed a drop link with had lots of movement in, I think me freeing it up to get the strut out has made it alot more obvious as I did check it for play.

I also swapped my window regulator over.

Wood and bag still doing a good job

20038124123_92ebd57236_z.jpg

had to put self tappers through it as my rivet gun bent in half on the first try!!! But if this panel ever needs to come off again then it will be so much easier. I also re did the wiring to the led lights and put them in connector blocks.

20649867672_f294ccfa49_z.jpg

Doing to put some more screws in it today and seal the carrier up then I might mount my number plate....somewhere a little different though.

So this morning I w,enter to finish my door panel....broken clips. My local skoda dale said they don't stock them so a ebay special was ordered.

I also ordered a drop link from eurocarparts that came within 3 hours. So I got that fitted and on bouncing the suspension no more knocking. I'll take the car out for a proper run tomorrow.

20673673012_05591714ac_z.jpg

Also fitted my number plate

Bumper off job, for something different

20670069782_a5245c189c_z.jpg

20060362264_c45ff99750_z.jpg

Bumpers coming off tomorrow to spray the mesh black and fit some permanent metal brackets to the bumper to hold mesh in place as the cable ties sticky pads have all but given up.

And then on to the next saga no doubt lol

Bumper is all finished now

Resprayed the mesh black

20710876401_da2b5be20c_z.jpg

The sticky pads were all peeling away

20710893151_df0458b928_z.jpg

20710891331_aa999aec55_z.jpg

20516077498_2ec18f0550_z.jpg

So I quickly made some brackets up at work, piece of metal strap with a 6mm hole in it and a 90 degree bend

20743076761_dd06168b64_z.jpg

20736189585_58b1957ce5_z.jpg

Had to use a sticky cable tie as either side to pull the middle in.

20736186235_f789276781_z.jpg

This is the lower lip from the outside, nice and close

20113629444_3801cb4f9f_z.jpg

And now I have a good 10mm or more between the mesh and the number plate, before the mesh was resting on the crash bar.

20736202565_dcb4708fa3_z.jpg

20709976996_3a8197325d_z.jpg

And I also finished the door...at last lol.
