Ooh that's not so good :( glad it got spotted though

It's absolutely shocking workmanship. And the fact they've tried to cover it up. I just hope no one else takes their cars to them.

Anyway picture of my new discs and pads. half the price of the tarox ones

And some unit 18 repping.

Not even December yet :P

Sounds good anyway, more pictures needed!

Haha, cars still at unit 18 so I'll be picking it up next saturday. Im hoping to pick up another bumper and get that sprayed, I can prep it all at work and can spray but I'll take it to a proper body shop. Then a full clean as the back end is completely black from the track day.

After that, next on the list is getting my wheels refurbished and then finally get that dent sorted out, which likely can be done at work again and get that sprayed.

And then maybe a gtb turbo...if I can release the funds from the house deposit lol

  • 2 weeks later...

Sooo big update.

Last week I picked the car. Pulling off the motorway I had the same noise as it was at the biting point. Phoned alister up and he said we will go out in the car when I coming up on Friday (today) to fit the gear linkage bushes.

Got there today and we went out in it, alister comfirmed the gear box is fine and the noise is the clutch and gearbox transmitting noise through the car as it turns out I do have a uprated DMF, no springs on the paddle clutch and solid gearbox mountings.

Also I have a slight notch from cold on some gears. This is from thicker oil to protect the differential. So I can live with that as the diff is more important.

Alister also recommends getting the solid engine mount to complete the set and to stop the engine twisting on the weak mount. So more noise and vibrations....yaaaay my teeth are going to love me lol. Still has to be done.

Also got my bushes fitted. Change is much nicer and positive.

Yes I know it needs a clean. I refused to give it one while it was misbehaving.

Im also talking to pasty boy about some custom badges...something a little different. And I was talking to Alister about turbos etc as he was surprised by how punchy mine was and he spoke about some of the fabias he built etc, and I've asked him for a quote of one of there turbos, it's something familiar but at the same time completely different. If the price is good then I may do something April time about it :D lol.

Random pictures, these two look familiar lol

LOL you must've left after I turned up to collect mine. :)

Alister is great fitted my new headlights no major issues, just have to get some more headlight bolts as two of mine were missing. Looks like a trip to TPS soon. And yes the black one will be being built up by him, repairing some parts that have perished due to age and heat from the engine bay to make it better than new.

Not close to me either however well worth the trip up and where I'll be taking mine from now on.

Let me know next time you're going up there as I may be doing the same and can have a mini meet and convoy along the way. :D

He said you were coming up to collect it. I left just before 10:30 I think, sure I saw you the other week when you brought the white one to him, I was just leaving then too lol.

I asked alister if you would miss the front bumper from the black one haha.

Don't think I'll be going for a while now. I'll do the engine mount myself and other bits. Still you can't be far from me in in croydon.

Thought I'd write up a to do list.

1 - sort out my front bumper. Going to buy a brand new one from skoda, there only £200 and it will cost £50 to spray through work. Plus new fog light.

2 - Buy and Fit the solid engine mount

http://www.awesomegti.com/car/skoda/fabia1/vibratechnics-right-hand-side-engine-mount

3 - new rear discs and pads. I'll probably stay standard discs but uprated pads as the rear discs don't get hot enough to warrent the 256mm upgrade.

4 - sort out the small dent in the rear (might get this done with the bumper depending on price.)

5 - get the wheels refurbed and sprayed in dark anthracite.....maybe, or white, or orange. Will see lol.

And lastly a new turbo from unit 18 if the price is good and injectors depending on what they say the standard ones can take as it might be pushing them a bit..... :)

I also had my works do last night and a few of us are into our cars the boss included and he said he'll do a corporate track day at brands Feb/March time all paid for by him which is pretty awesome.

Day off work today so I finally decided to wash the beast.

Some before

Started with the wheels

This was from just a 1/4 of the boot.

23717908826_581b9c69bd_b.jpg

And a few afters :)

23661829561_eb9137aa7d_b.jpg

And I pointlessly cleaned the pipes. They will be black in no time lol.

23635548882_6fd3ab1b2b_b.jpg

I also need to paint my rear calipers

23718053706_0ed3f56d17_b.jpg

And this is why the the rear brakes need replacing. The fact they don't really get hot enough unless doing lap after lap on a track has meant they've started to corrode. Something unit 18 mentioned about the 256mm upgrade being pointlessly for the odd track day car.

23635483302_f315607b5c_b.jpg

In case you haven't noticed I've also removed the black wrap around the door frames. Not sure if it looks any better but it was starting to peel and look cheap.

Some nice pictures, my brakes look quite similar...

I've got some red t-cut Polish... I'm tempted to give them a wipe over and see how they come out! I've got a pot of red Hammerite as well so can go either way yet!

Cheers,

Mine are quite past it so I'm going to rub them down and redo them. Got a couple of spare grills so I'm going to get some plasti dip and do one in that. Just waiting for pasty boy to see how my badges come out like as he's not done one like this before :)

Just ordered this little lot from skoda.

23568150500_f43f52d1cc_b.jpg

Not a bad price at all considering ebay wants £150 for a damaged front bumper! I still need to get a fog light, skoda wants £50 for one where ebay is £17.

When it get delivered it will cost roughly £50 to spray through a company we use at work.

Now contemplating having a trimmed sticker number plate on the bumper

£200 ain't bad I suppose! At least it's all brand new stuff.

I don't like the stick on reg plates personally. Are you going to wide mouth the number?

It's cheaper to buy new rather than repair the old one. Yeah I'll wide mouth like what's on it at the moment. If I dont like the stick on plates then I just bolt the removable number plate brackets back on.

I noticed while driving through fog the other day my beams where awful. They crossed over about 5 meters in front of the car and the left headlight was quite high to.

So I rigged up a headlight bay at work using a e class as my point of reference.

23820877261_8fb3027010_b.jpg

That's the best I can get them. Note the two black marks is where they should be. I've ran out of adjustment, so what I'm going to have to do is drill the mounting holes out and angle the headlights that way. I'll do that when I'm fitting my new bumper.

23286239464_91d3d94890_k.jpg

Also gave the car another quick wash, and I might also be buying the black clio 182 too...boss's son has it up for £1500 but I want it nearer £1000 we shall see lol

Nice car the Clio sport 182 but the £265 a year tax isn't health, take it it's the fat boy cup, the handling is awesome, it's like on rails, take it past 5500 rpm and it's mental. It would make a nice track car.

Tax isnt really an issue. This ones on spax adjustable suspension (£1000 apparently) and has a aftermarket exhaust plus decat on it.

If I got it, it would be my daily drive but then the money spent on this would pay for a turbo upgrade....decision's lol
