Fantastic results!! Is gard x any good?

As in the brand or specific product ?   Not used them in the past to give an honest opinion sorry.

Did you do it by hand or machine?

This was done by machine, actually 3 machines...each one to achieve different results.

Its been a while since i have posted on here.

The vRS as a car has really impressed me.  I love the power delivery and the sheer fun you can have.  Excellent handling in standard form with fantastic MPG (compared to my old 2.8 V6 4mo).  But unfortunately this is not such a positive update....

On the journey back from the dealership the car had a judder from the brakes around 70mph.  Called the dealership to make them aware of this about a week later both of the rear disc shields had corroded and fell onto the discs.  Also the air con was not working....all this was reported to the dealership with a report from a local VAG specialist who confirmed the discs were corroded and probably warped hence the juddering.  All this was compiled in a report and given to the dealership, everything seemed fine they wanted to sort it because they pride themselves on customer service blah blah blah.  They wanted more pics of the issues, but as i was visiting Brighton i decided i would just stop in and show them in person, thinking that would be better than sending pictures.  So done that, everything very positive, confirmed no issues at all and they will get this fixed out and ensure the car is fixed, just to head from the dealership director on the monday (this was a friday).....waited for the monday and nothing.....waited this the friday and followed up what had been discussed.  They decided they would only fix the aircon as its something they noticed before hand.  Obviously slightly miffed at this as you would not expect a main manufacturer dealership to renege on something that is potentially a safety issue.  Reason i bought the car from the main dealership was for the security that it was a main dealership, as previously had issues with another car from a "back street dealer".  The other big concern is the fact they perform MOT's, and put this car through an MOT for me, but it had these issues with the brakes and nothing was mentioned...I believe now that a garage selling cars should not b able to put their own cars through MOT's and should be independent (if such thing could exist without any influence).

To top it all off within the last few days EML came on (intermittedly), checked with VAGCOM and issues with "intake manifold flat position sensor (bank 1) implausable signal P2015"

Conclusion.....getting it all fixed on Monday coming, but feeling very disheartened by the dealership experience, but i do love the car :)

Unfortunately most Dealers will not cover wear and tear items under goodwill

I used EuroCarparts and got an Indy to fit new discs and pads and saved over 50% over the Dealer price

Maybe im wrong in thinking they should have addressed this before allowing the car to be sold.  But everything will be done at the vag specialist i have used for my passat and golf gti.  Been really good on price and not had any issues with their work in the past :)  Once that been done then can look at how to enhance/improve the car :)

so a little update on this:

The rear spoiler kept oxidising, so ended up sanding and trizacting it and polished it.  Now it matches the rest of the car:

Also the EML came on...plugged in the vagcom and this was the result:

So getting this fixed tomorrow along with the aircon and other issues.

On a positive note, decided to prepare the car for winter, wash and decontaminate, then a single stage correction to remove any light wash scratches then protected with Fusso99 Coat 12.  Now i have not rated this in the past, but decided to give it another chance.  This time i ditched their supplied applicator and opted for a german application using the soft side.  I felt the supplied applicator the pore are too big and allows the applicator to become clogged up resulting in uneven application.  Im very happy with the results and didnt notice as much or any ghosting/wax hologramming/staining.

The results:

and some beading:

I am very happy with the car and performance with fantastic MPG.  There are plans for the car but it will be slow progress

Thanks for viewing

Plans.....

Stage 1 Shark Performance remap...but would like to take that further (maybe)

Refurb and colour change the alloys to maybe anthricite, but would also fancy new wheels, im liking Rotaforms on the Octavia.

Fix all the paintwork issues on the car and respray the front end and rear bumper

Maybe a front splitter????

I would like a better exhaust BUT on the diesel vRS there is nothing available so im guessing thats a custom job.... :(

Interior I want a Columbus head unit, the interior trim i fancy hydro dipping

Wanting tints

after this im struggling to think or anything else........

We have a company up here called C&C that many people use, so in time ill have a look at them...not seen many video online of a tdi vRS with exhaust changed, so not sure how it sounds.....

Well today the car is in the garage...so manifold flap motor needs replaced and a glowplug, two rear brake shields, air con compressor and aircon serviced...quite an expensive bill (over £1k), thankfully Aircon is being refunded by dealership (confirmed in writing) and the manifold issue being covered by warranty,

I've custom exhaust on my CR 170. It is naturally a quiet engine so it struggles are any real "sporty noise" Ibe got a straight through with a nice new tip, it's got a little more grumble to it but you have to be standing at the rear to hear it.

Is it worth it? Probably not if I'm honest. Now if you do a dpf delete then I've been told it's a different story, that'll give you a nice sound when letting off the gas etc. Dpf holds all the noise on these bad boys.

Thanks for your feedback, I does made me wonder if there is any point upgrading the exhaust unless its to replace due to wear and tear.

As for the car, well I havent really done much with it....or anything at all.  Spending all my time Snowboarding (teaching/riding) and buying stuff for snowboarding I have been skint.  Usually the winter time is focussed on that then April till Nov is about the car...also i broke my neck recently so yeah not much has been done at all.....

So as mentioned in the previous comment i have not been doing too great after breaking my neck late last year, so the car had been neglected as i physically couldnt work on it...but as the sun starting to come out and the bad weather hopefully is behind us, I decded it was time to prep the car a little bit for the spring.  Having used the Fusso99 Coat12 i have mixed opinions on it...application is not the best, the ghosting could catch people out, it definately attracts dirt and grime (but unsure how accurate that is as it could be down to the amount of molasses within the road salt.  Saying that, even though it hold the dirt the product didnt fail, after a wash it was back to beading really well and nice a glossy (not as good as when originally applied).  So decided to clay, detar, and cleanse the paint, as i had not washed it there was pretty much no wash marring from the winter months so no correction was needed and this time brough out the expensive wax.  " coats of Swissvax Shield was applied to the car with Chemical Guys wheel guard applied to the Alloys, Zaino tire dressing (i really rate this product as a tire dressing), Dodo Juice Fantastic Plastic on the trim...think ill look for something better in the form of Gtechniq or something else.  Applied Anti-fog on the inside of the glass as carrying snowboards alot and the dampness created alot of moisture in the car.  Very happy with results, makes me love the car all over again :)

Not the best finish to them but much more vibrant than the dull look they were before
