Thanks for that, will order one.

Took my calipers to work today and gave them a strip down as the nipples were seized. Bit of heat and they were out.

Removed seals and shot blasted the lot. Cleaned up the pistons.

Just need some paint now. Looking good. Hope they are the correct ones [emoji23]

Stripped the rears down.. Why are two of the sliders cone shaped and two of them with flat sides?

All painted anyway [emoji23]

I noticed this when I did mine and put it down to it maybe already had a caliper replaced before but maybe there all like that?

I didnt take any notice when i took them apart, only realised when i removed dust covers and cleaned off grease. But the way i put them i'm 99% sure each caliper had both sliders the same, not one of each. Weird

All brakes painted and ready to be put back together.

Looking good, they have 3 very light coats of smooth black hammerite.

Also made up a blank for the evap system on the side of the engine, once paint drieds ill fit that.

Stainless nuts arrived for the rocker cover.. But i ordered m8 and not m6 haha waste of money that was.

If i had pulled my finger out i'm sure it could have been 'ready'. But had quite a few things going on that hasn't had me in any mood to be in the garage. Glad for this 'ring trip to take my mind off things [emoji26]

At this rate we could have taken this fabia to the Ring as a substitute for my car being not ready :D

Coilovers arrived today.. Set of secondhand AP's, got them cheap so good enough to see me through until i can afford some proper suspension. They were seized and a bit manky. Gave them a wire brush and soaked them in plusgas all day. Cleaned up the hub and got them on.

Then i noticed ARB was quite loose, so set about removing it.. Snapped a bolt. Removed old brakes and realised i havent received my new pads.. And only have 1 disc. (Who the hell just sells 1 disc??? [emoji35])

So rebuilt the brakes.. Went to fit them.. They dont fit. The carriers are about 3mm away from lining up with the hub holes. If i remove the disc they actually bolt up. Does this mean theyre for mk5 or could they just de different 288mm ones?? Confused. I could grind a few mm off the carrier to stop it fouling on the disc.

Are you sure you are not doing something daft?

I've had some Mk5 ones and some Mk4 ones side by side and the callipers are noticeably different.

Your callipers look exactly the same as the ones that just came off mine, and have the same markings '54', 'G35'.

Mk5s which didn't fit, holes on carrier are too far apart compared to those on the hub:

Mk4s:

What can i be doing wrong? They look like mk4 to me too

Something on the wrong side of something else? Hard to tell, but if the holes line up without the disc on then they are not Mk5 ones. Could it be that the discs are not the right ones and thus are not sitting where they should be?

Don't have mine any more or I'd try and figure it out :(

Carriers are the same both sides. As long as disc is 312 its cant be 'wrong' as the carrier sits on the disc and nearly reaches the hub..

I should have got a pic really
