From General Car chat if you want to look at the posts & the link in VW thread pinned at the top of the section.

05surveyor,

Are you still bound by your confidentiality agreement and unable to tell the general public this 'offer of compensation' your lawyers have won you from the VW Group?

Some of the people are fooled some of the time and some are just easily fooled at any time by 'No win no fee' Law Firms.

?

Is there a risk of fees this time with the class actions to those that signed up as members of that class action?

From the Slater & Gordon website;

"What will it cost me?

The litigation will be funded by a third party litigation funder. Accordingly, there will be no cost to you for joining or participating in the group action. If we lose the claim, the funder will lose all of its investment. To offset its risk, the litigation funder will take a fee from the compensation awarded if we are successful. You should however still receive 70% of your proportionate share of compensation. If we lose the claim, we will not charge you for our time or the costs we have incurred on your behalf. The funder will simply lose its investment."

Yes or no would do.

On a phone, i will have a scope at it later, but not really interested in the Secret Handshake, nod and a wink, or any other dodgy Court behaviours.

Just read the judgement. What a farce. Harcus Sinclair and Your Lawyer racing to get the GLO submitted so they could be in charge on the group of various law firms. They’d not even agreed on who they were going to collectively pursue with disagreement between HC and YL.

Freshfields, representing VW, even warned them against lodging the GLO so early before they had come to a co-ordinated agreement but they still went ahead. Freshfields must be laughing their heads off, they’ve had their fees paid by the opposition, whilst the claimants have already incurred sunken costs. The claimant investors/backers must be getting very twitchy that they’ve backed the wrong horse. Any future backers would have second thoughts with legal teams that have just blown £300k whilst scoring a home goal.
