2016 Skoda Octavia Scout 1.8TSI

I apologize in advance, I'm Norwegian so bear with me on my english typing skills.

My first introduction to Skoda was the Octavia II Scout, excellent car but I missed a few key options found on the brother and sisters from Audi and VW. The OII was sold and I bought a 2013 Audi A4 quattro, got it on some 9.5x20 and H&R but soon realised that I'm to old for this ****.

So I tried the new Scout III with the 1.8TSI engine and DSG and I fell in love. Because the Norwegian dealership has some retarded rules I had to let some things go such as black roof lining, black grille, black rails and black window trim, hard pill to swallow. Anyway, I ticked of every box except three things on the options list and signed the contract. My girlfriend got to choose the colour, I wanted the Brilliant silver but she went for the 2Y2Y Moon White Metallic, also a nice colour.. Four months later the car was ready for delivery. I got a rust treatment before the wheels hit the salty Norwegian roads, don't know what you call that here but Tectyl is the name of the stuff used.

Some pictures...

First a picture of my old OII on Rotiform:

Quickly I had to start personalizing the car, nothing much as this is our daily driver but small things:

Noise insulation for the bonnet (this engine does not make much noise but it looks better):

Looks great! :)

Did the noise insulation make any difference? If it does, i will get it for sure. Might be even better for the dieselengine.

Thank you :D

A slightly noise reduction maybe but the TSI is not very loud to begin with. However the TDI would very much benefit from this I believe. Part number 5E0 863 831 and the price is about 420NOK (35GBP)

Finally got some time to give the car a real wash. It will however get a real polish and wax when the temperature gets a little bit better. Some pics:

Rim7 and Surfex HD 1:5 on tire walls:

Looks good, have you tried the 4x4 in any off-roading? Only had a minor experience so far, had to back down "steep" a gravel road, not the slightest of wheel spin when i drove up again :)

And to the bad news... my kid decided to draw some circles on the passenger door with his rubber rain glove, oh the horror. All the little pieces of the sand followed the glove around and around. It´s not deep, so i hope it can be polished away.

No not yet, tho I guess the Haldex 5 is just as good as Haldex 4 which I have tried on my old Scout II and it was excellent.

Kids will be kids, if not a machine polish works try wet sanding the area first. Tho my guess is that a hard kombo pad and polish will kill the swirls :)

Sounds good, really looking forward to testing the 4x4 some day. This car begs do get really dirty from time to time. Load it up with my mtb and go beyond the end of the road.  :p

My neighbour has a polish machine, said he could fix it, just need to bribe him with a couple of beers. :)

Just found this. Excellent I thought, a Scout project.

I really like what you've done with it with the 18"s and love your attention to detail and the detailing.

Cheers from down under.

Thank you very much sir, the thought behind this car was to keep it as oem as possible but with just a little bit personalization.

Collinite 845 is beading just beautifully:

Today I removed the plastic license plate holder and mounted the license plate with a industrial strength velcro strip.

Norwegians are famous for going grocery shopping in Sweden and today the car got to stretch it legs a little bit.
