What bulbs are fitted to the S3 & upgraded bulb recommendations

 I actually did something somewhat controversial. I removed the original xenon bulbs and retrofitted 55w LED bulbs soldered to the ballast wiring harness to achieve the best output and comparable to the original LED stribes Kelvin color. 

 

Also I mounted 30w LED bulbs in the fog housing.

I have to ask, what the f*** did you mount for the Reversing lights? It looks like you gor a Xenon at the back... or is it just the Photo?

 

How is the Led 55w compared to the Xenon? And how did you fit it in the housing?

I want to wear a led on the fog lamp, but I want to ask a question.
The fog lamp slowly opens at low speed. Is this causing a problem for LED? Does the LED turn on suddenly?

With these LEDs they come on and go off instantly, they do not dim down slowly.

Installed LED-s in luggage room. They seem to be very good for money ($9.50 from Aliexpress). Hopefully they will also last.

They should be fine (even in a 280)

 

6000k may have a slight blue tint to them, I usually go no higher than 5000k

 

62w is for a pair = 31w each

My car is an Active version. In Denmark the rear light cluster on Active doesn't contain the small "blinds", that on the higher versions hides the bulbs, if you know what I mean. Hence, small LED bulbs with a reversing projektors will actually have better and more targeted output.

The LED driver (ballast) is simply soldered into the original wirering harness, that provides 12v+ and ground to the original ballast, that drives dipped beam.

What do you think about the actual performance of the LED setup compared to Xenon? I've had expensive LED conversions done on past cars, but nothing was even close to how bright my Superb's AFS is.

Do you have a link to the Led's you used? There seem to be so many different variations of led placement/sizes/number of leds and all under the same W5W 5050 T10 reference. I haven't got the car yet so can't check and  don't want to order the wrong ones or something that is too bright. Thanks
