Rapid V71 motor problem

Hi everyone!

 

I have a Rapid 1.6 TDi 2012y and...

 

... problem with flap motor V71. VCDS showed me the 01274 error with 000 suberror.

With motor is this? Where it is located? I deassemble glovebox, but only motor I can see is on right side of blower.

 

Any advices?

It's behind the blower. Below is from the service manual:

 

Remove storage compartment on passenger side
– Carefully release cable from the clips -4-.
– Unplug connector -2- from the control motor.
– Unscrew screws -3- and -5-.
– Pull holder -1- with control motor as far forward as possible,
until the lever no longer engages in the control for control motor.
– Push outside catch at the top of the holder -1- downwards
-arrows- and remove holder with control motor.
– Remove air flow flap control motor from the holder.
While doing so, press the catch pegs -arrows- outwards and
at the same time remove the dynamic pressure flap control
motor from the catches -1-.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Pay attention to the
following:
Note
♦ The spare part dynamic pressure flap control motor - V71- is
set to the end position “re-circulating air mode”.
♦ If necessary connect the control motor to the wiring loom and
switch to position “re-circulating air operation”.
– Press the dynamic pressure flap control motor into the holder.
– The following steps must occur simultaneously:
– Guide the holder with control motor in such a way that the lever
-2- grips into the control for the control motor -1-.
– Press the control motor fully into the housing and screw on.
– Insert plug connection, switch on ignition and check operation
of the control motor by pressing the re-circulating air button.
Note
♦ It must be possible to smoothly adjust the fresh air flap and recirculating
air flap up to the stop.
♦ If there are functional problems abort test immediately and repeat
installation.
♦ If the control motor was replaced, perform a basic setting

Anybody got a picture of the potentiometers associated with these motors please?

And how are they connected? Are they replaceable separetely?

If there like the Fabia flap motors its usually the motor that starts acting up !

Here is what the inside of the flap motors on a MK1 Fabia look like - V68 so no not a normal pot !

Interesting...I've always thought - and read on forums, I think - that it's the little plastic-bodied potentiometer that fails.

Yeh I did look into finding a motor but the ones I found all had different cogs on the shaft !  I did take some pics of the insides of the motor but our website says I can only upload 10mb

sorry for the wait just found some and it looks like its a lock motor from one of the doors on a Fabia, will forward them now

Your probably right wino its the carbon track on the flap motors and the motors themselves on the door locks, I also have a pic of V154 out of the fabia which has a slightly different pot if thats of any use ?

I wouldn't be too sure about that. I cut into one of the pots a while back and was surprised that it didn't look as cheap and nasty as I expected. It's a moving part, so subject to wear, but I think the wiper had at least two contact points, if not more, so quite robust, except possibly vulnerable to debris accumulation.

The motor is something I hadn't really thought much about. Much faster moving than the pot. Will check out all the pics you've sent tomorrow.

Yeh must admit I checked out the ones in the flap motors and like you say there well made, I applied some switch cleaner to the tracks but it was only short lived, I will have to google the pot part numbers now.
