Strange there are a couple of people complaining about the Osram bulbs, mine are perfect with a very bright light and all 6 LED’s appearing to be working well on both bulbs. I don’t think I could handle them being any brighter than that. Maybe I’ve just been lucky, then again HID’s Driect will never get another penny of my money after the bulb debacle that happened when I bought the car so I guess luck has a lot to do with it.

I don't think the two LEDs in each bulb being slightly dimmer is making a noticeable difference i just think the bulbs are of a much lower lumen output than the ones i have already. I think if you have gone straight from the OEM bulbs to the Osram LED bulbs you will indeed think they were good. But going from the LED bulbs i got from HIDS Direct to these there is a massive drop in light output / brightness which will be very noticeable on bright sunny days when it may well look as though the DRLs aren't lit at all.

I had a similar problem with the original LED DRLs i put in the Superb.... They looked great till the summer then you couldn't tell they were lit. The one's i have in there now are great and look like they are factory fit LED DRLs.

Little update for today....

The mrs has asked for a dash cam for the Citigo for crimbo so i've been looking at various options.

I already have a Mobius in the Superb so that was my preferred option but after having a try at seeing if a Mobius camera would fit behind the rear view mirror (Using a spare mount and the camera out of my car) it became apparent that the mobius won't fit in the space available.... Obviously the sensor filled mirror on the Superb is further away from the windscreen.

Anyway after having a look online at various sites i've decided to go for a Blackvue DR-450 which are currently available for £127 on Amazon. (Looks like Halfords are price matching them too if you're not an Amazon fan).

Camera will be arriving tomorrow but it'll be getting wrapped up so further updates will come along after crimbo. :)

Well our little Citigo is rather the worse for wear at the minute.

On her way home from work yesterday the Mrs was stood waiting at a roundabout when someone ran into the back of her. She managed to stop the car from hitting the car in front of her so the damage is confined to the rear end but it's looking like it's going to be a new bumper at least. Thankfully she is pretty much ok but we ended up in A&E yesterday evening and they have confirmed she has whiplash so she's at home feeling very stiff and achy.

She has spoken to the Skoda "Ensurance" service who are now dealing with everything as they liaise with both insurance companies and the relevant VAG dealership or bodyshop on your behalf. The bodyshop have already been in touch (For the Sheffield area it's actually the Sheffield Seat dealership who deal with the VW, Audi, Skoda & Seat group bodywork issues for each of the various versions of "Ensurance") and I'm taking the car down there on Monday morning for them to assess the damage and what will be required.

The Citigo Came back from the bodyshop yesterday and looks as good as new again now.

Had a new Mii as a courtesy car...... Definitely not a fan of the new style interior.

Glad to see the car is ok but how's the Mrs now?

Were you happy with Skoda ensurance and did you have to pay extra for using them?

The mrs is feeling better now thanks.

We misunderstood the Ensurance bunf to be that they were the only point of contact for the claim...... What actually happens is that you call them and they then contact the relevant insurance companies and arrange to have your car repaired at a Skoda authorised repair centre rather than the insurance company repair centre. For us that was the local Seat dealer, (they are also the local VW and Audi dealer at a couple of other sites), who have the body shop for this area which is VAG recommended. (Plenty of VW,Audi and Skoda authorised signs around the place).  You still have to speak with the insurance yourself regarding anything else they want to know etc.....

Ensurance is a free service and as it was a case of us claiming off the other party we still had nothing to pay ourselves etc.....

Thanks. I guess some insurance companies would charge extra for going to a repairer they don't approve of?

So Skoda Endurance could arrange for the car to go to a

VAG specialist and the insurance company  would put an extra cost on top for the privelige?

Glad the Mrs is ok.

Well after just under three years of ownership and seven months before her PCP deal was due to end the mrs has traded in the Citigo for something a little bit bigger. She came from a mk1 Fabia and has gone back in that direction and gone for a new Fabia Colour Edition in Race Blue and Black Pearl.

The swap was done last Tuesday so if anyone wants a Citigo with the dynamic interior and leather pack get on to the D M Keith website and have a look.

Anyhow here's the new replacement.....
