Remap places

Hi folks.

All going to plan I'll be the new owner of a fabia monte Carlo 1.6 diesel thus Saturday. Travelling to kent for it so it better be a good one lol. This will be mainly used for my work (350 mile a week trip) hence the reason for a diesel.

I've tried to read as much as possible about them and one thing that keeps popping up is egr cooler and dpf problems. Now I've been told that rather than fix them when/if they go tits up I'd be better getting them removed and then Remapped.

Anyone done this and how much cost is involved??

I'm not planning on doing that much if anything to the car as I have an Audi B8 S4 that gets enough spent on it. Well maybe a set of springs and rarb.

The car in question as 29k miles on a 2011 plate so it's low mileage which is a good thing as I'll not be long in totting them up lol.

Is the car worth being mapped as it'll be nippy enough I'd imagine. I'm from the Stirling/alloa area so every where in the central belt is pretty much accessible.

Cheers Alex

Anyone used Martin Auto Remap Clinic in Glasgow?

Haven't heard of them no.

Heard nothing but good things about ecotune in hillington though. A few of my mates have used them and can't praise them enough. VAG specialist as well.

Won't really go far wrong with either Mark at Brotek in Lanark (superb detailing work as well as it happens) or Stan at Ecotune, Ecotune are the recognised APR dealers for this area. Their own cars, including the RS6 are quite spectacular.

+1 for Star performance, serviced my Monte Carlo and done a great job at a good price, asked about a remap and was told £300, thought about it but to be fair I don't use car enough, would rather spend money on my bikes

I eventually took the plunge and went with Martin Auto Remap. So far so good.

He managed to get my Superb from 146 (stock) to 185.5bhp.

The car has incredible pulling power now and so smooth.

Martin is extremely knowledgeable and a gent.

I paid £220 including 2 runs on the dyno and a print out of the runs.

Would definitely recommend
