So replaced 'Old worn' Front Badge with new design using Hair Dryer & thin Fishing wire to prise off.

Could only find on Ebay..

Decided on the Rear VRS Logo cover which arrived from Superskoda so there was really no need for me to take off the old badge.

In light of the wifes Citigo car having fuel stolen from underneath the car by some local chavs, she has kindly agreed that the next mod is lowering my VRS car using Coilovers and her next car using springs (possibly a Monte). So thats it for this summer, Service and coilovers come september.

Service MOT done made it 1 full year on same oil from last years service. Oil was 1/3 from bottom. Also for peace of mind compression was done as Car is 7 years old and Running very well, but here were the compression readings taken by Engineer :

Cylinder 1 = 164

Cylinder 2 = 164

Cylinder 3 = 162

Cylinder 4 = 162

Bosch plugs worked a treat but have now switched to Laser Platinums NGK (Pic attached)

AP Coilovers, RARB and Powerflex bushes next..hopefully before end of year

^^^ What you have just fitted were the OEM Plugs VW / Skoda / Seat fitted 2009-2012/13

03c905601A  / PZFR6R

They were then changed to

03c905601B / SIZEFR6BEG   By VW / Skoda because of failures.

Hi Offski Just got back in now,

If Platinum NGK are the exact same spec as those that Skoda used (back then) it could troublesome so thanks for the heads up. :)

Attached below is NGK IR - these burnt a tip off in cylinder 3 when car was an 'oil burner'

Denso Iridium also below - this eroded a tip away a few months after car was mapped BUT not an oil burner... (still a mystery since these are highly rated)

Bosch - these have been in last 6 months no issues. Best so far

As far as aware Platinums NGK's 2009-13 batches never been in this car at all so now is fair test of Platinum NGK 2017 VS Bosch 2016 on a well running car.

I wonder how many NGK's from 2009-13 failed because of contributing oil coking problems and how many just downright badly manufactured plugs / handling errors...

I have had a bad Denso Iridium (even tho rare occurance on these forums)

The tuning shop i use has never blown a Platinum on the rolling road but has blown plenty of Denso Iridiums.....in VW's Subarus's etc...

Will see what happens, any misfires and the Bosch are going back in.

PFZR62's were failing around the world in VW Beetles etc, and others with 160ps up twinchargers before the Seat Cupra, then the Fabia vRS / Polo GTI.

But then there was all the other issues like the engine management, injectors etc

http://revotechnik.com/support/technical/14tsi-twincharger-engine-issues     NGK did different plugs for the Audi A1 185ps Twincharger.

Change of rear badge to the standard new style black skoda badge as looks better with tinted rear lights,

Also not to everyone's taste considered the VRS sun strip  but settled  on some well placed logo's, not in my field of view rear or front

Can you guess the film? Ironically the wife was overtaken on a back road by a VW Jetta , maybe it was Jesse?

Lastly briskoda stickers now fitted, a tribute to the car and the forum members

Just for reference, what plugs are you currently running, i'm about to buy some Denso SKJ20CR but i'm a bit put off now after seeing one has gone on yours.  I know Denso also do a PKJ20CR which fits the VRS.

Hi

Platinums NGK's now cant tell the difference against the Bosch ones i had in 2016. So both these have been good, Denso didnt work for me

So the stereo has now been finally replaced with an Android one, had my eyes on this for while:

Sat Nav, CD / DVD player, USB Audio, DAB, Bluetooth, AND the much loved reverse parking sensor graphic!

Can be set as 4G but needs seperate SIM so its easier to Tether /share phone internet connection for Torque Pro, Carista, google play apps etc...

So vinyl wrap Wing mirrors ones taken off using surround first then top cover  pulled upwards, (no need to remove glass or wiring)

Clearly the vinyl wrap had not adhered on glossy black originals.

Winter had not fared well & had to tape up using gorilla tape!

SO:

Ebay ones sprayed up over 2 days that were already primed (really this is not necessary to buy a second set but makes it easier to spread out the drying times)

It Could be done in a day using an OEM set however, now i know how to get the damn things off.

From youtube guides you would need to key the glossy ones then prime then sand then 4 coats , 3 laquer I didnt do the sanding or priming as mine were already primed from ebay:

Bonnet Vents ready for meshing to same standard Rallye Green as Wing Mirrors covers

This will be done by the good Nick Wiley later in the year. Ive included a link to his page he is booked up 6 months in advance for this mod.

A few have done it on here already...

Painted them myself but after buying all the spray paint + primer its probably cheaper to do it through Nick himself
