CJZC/D (EA211) engine introduction.

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Further to the below:

I've tried to find a cut in number for the latest twin cam, belt driven engine for the Rapid and Spaceback but have had no luck. Can someone help out with a chassis number, build date or similar please?

Thanks

(Apologies for the cross post, I'm trying to home in on the information).

Rapids didn't get the belt-drive motor till MY16 so (I believe I've read this on here) that's week 22 2015.

The Fab 3 has only ever had the CJZC/D as it's 1.2 option.

Having driven both chain and belt 1.2's, the older one is more refined, especially at low (0-3000) revs.

Not so much concerned about the refinement, more about the engine's propensity to eat itself and the manufacturer's response to such an event if it happened.

Edit. From what I've read, perhaps I'm looking for two cut in numbers:

1. The CZJ engine (which you've suggested is week 22 of 2015)

2. The more robust CBZ A/B with different timing chain components (which seems to be sometime late 2013?).

Yes, thanks.

My hope was to find a reference such that I could establish the transition date and the chassis number of the cars when it cut in. I have found that dealers cannot answer the question of which engine is fitted so I need to do my own research.
