Insurance for 30 Year Old

Recommended Posts

How home I'm being quote £440 minimum for an Octavia VRS with only a suspension modification... One of my friends is 36 and his Astra VXR only costs £189 to insure with esure!.  Who are people finding the best that allow mods? I'm going stage 1 soon so have to accommodate for that too.

Specialist Brokers that have sections at the top of this forum are pretty good as a starter.

Then any that advertise as Specialist for Modified cars really.

(Are you sure he is with esure and not the other one that sounds and looks like esure but are not and recently changed their name,

even if it is esure does he have declared mods.)

In case you are chasing the end of the insurance rainbow here, try a hypothetical quote or two changing your car to your mates VXR and see if it comes down and also his post code, occupation and age etc against your car. You may just be bang out of luck on the whole post code lottery.

Yeah I remember googling it last year and I was pretty high on the risk areas.  May have even been the highest...

Sadly that's something you can't really do much about. If you're in what the insurance consider a higher risk area, £440 odd for a nice motor with some tasteful mods is quite a good price.

Hi, you'll have seen a potential increase in your premium at renewal because rates are on the up again. This is due to changes in the amount insurers have to pay for injury claims. We've written an article about it here:

In any case, its not a good idea to compare your premium with a mate's because you're not the same person - it's never going to be an accurate way of assessing if your quote is competitive. The only way you'll know that is to do what you have done and look around at what other providers are quoting. We hope you'll decide to stay with us because of the other benefits we offer. Against that £1600 quote our £440 looks attractive. Let us know if you find something cheaper.

best,

Nick

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the message.  I'll most likely be renewing with you, especially as you have a competitive price match.  I'm not getting any quotes back that beat yours anyway, it's just such a shame all quotes are high because my post code is deemed high risk :/
