DRL's on With Dip Beam

Recommended Posts

Hi I have upgraded My H15 Bulbs on my 2014 Elegance to Mtec Super white which are great On Drl and main beam but really yellow On Sidelights When Dip is on.

Can I change To Led's have tried a couple of different ones but get a error, maybe setting in vcds? Or recommended alternatives that have been tried

Can I change So Drl is on with Dip Beam instead of sidelights.... Is this legal of possible?

Sorry for the newbie questions

Simon

It won't be legal because DRLs at night will dazzle oncoming road users - they are basically a dim main beam. This is why they are switched off when the headlights come on.

Understood

The setting just increases the voltage to make the side lights slightly brighter (& whiter)

And not as bright as the Drl output and the way it looks to me not as bright as my dip beams so should not be any issues

Cheers

Here is my setup

Philips ultinon h8 in fogs, fogs also used as DRL instead of the H15

Philips Diamond vision in H7 for dipped, the H15 sidelight are dimmed to 5 to get rid of the yellowish along with dipped beam.

I think he disabled only the side light function so main beam / DRL still work as normal.

0% brightness setting can cause bulb out error, so probably that's why the 5%?
