Birth to 50,000miles Citigo Servicing

So we are getting close to 50,000miles and i had alooky at the cost of running our citigo as now just over 3 years old.

I had look back at the costs on servicing:

10,000miles - Service - £FOC came with Citigo

20,000miles - Service - £FOC came with Citigo

30,000miles - Service - £149.00

40,000miles - Service -  £277.62

48,000miles - MOT - £39.00

50,000miles - Service (£149), Brake Fluid & Brake Discs & Pads (£240) - £389.00

50,000miles - Tyres Fitted (fronts) - £163.00

So in reality (not including fuel and insurance) the maintenance per mile for the Citigo has been 0.02p per mile.

Happy with that! :)

It's 100 times more expensive than that.

Still good value though.

Ho can it be 100 times more expensive? 50,000miles in maintenance has cost £1,017.62. Divide that by the 50,000miles then the maintenance cost per mile is £0.02p

£1,017.62 divided by the 50,000miles is £0.02 or 2p per mile

Your initial 0.02p per mile is £0.0002 per mile.

'spec savers' for someone, or was the OP edited because it says 0.02p per mile.  (or 2 pence per mile)

?

Did you manage 1 pence per mile on petrol over the 50,000 miles?

No wonder young and old and others get confused.

100 pence in £1

so £1.00

£1 & 2 pence,

£1.02

20 pence,

£0.20

2 pence,

£0.02

12 pence,

£0.12

Pity the £ was never changed to the euro when imperial gallons

& the UK could also have gone totally metric.

50,000mile service all completed without any issues. £400 spent on the Citigo and after 3 years it felt like a new car again. I was rather surprised how much new rubber improved the driving experience.

Why not rotate tyres? From front to rear and from rear to front? For example every 10000 miles. This way tyres wears more evenly.

Just thought I might add to this thread as my daughter has just bought a 3yr 9m old Citigo with just a couple of hundred miles short of 50,000 on it. One lady owner from new and it's the 75hp elegance spec model.

Seems daft to have just serviced it again when it had only done 1,000 miles since last one. The only other thing is that the reprogrammed spare key doesn't work. The car is a little cracker and I really like it :)

How much were the spark plugs, out of interest? I just had a major service and MOT (at 40k) at an independent, £510, mostly the same as above but without tyres or brake discs (but brake pads replaced), doesn't seem like I saved much compared to a main dealer.

Car feels great now though, particularly with the Avon ZV7s I had fitted recently as well. For such a small light car I've been amazed at how much difference tyres actually make, the Firestones I had fitted previously were pretty poor (wheelspin in damp conditions, tendancy to tramline) but so far the Avons have been brilliant.
