Evening All.

Many apologies to you all for vanishing. Particularly to Fubar and O2 vRS who sent messages that went unread and unreplied.

I've had to batten down the hatches and retreat from society for a range of issues, mostly work and family related. I've also had more than enough ****e off social media, so I left that too. All is well, nothing awful, but I've had no space in my head for anything.

GAZ is still with us, and still starts first turn of the key (if it's dry - if not then 5 mins with a hairdryer sorts it). Needs some tlc, especially boots and exhaust, but still going strong. People keep knocking the door to try and buy it: People who seemingly drive about with empty trailers looking for yokes to buy...

I wouldn't ever have been able to meet tomorrow, if it's happening. I pointed Liam in the right direction, but he's not on the forum. His Felly passed its MOT, though, so he's still about.

I start a new job soon, so may be even more snowed under for a while, but if anything happens in the summer, I might be tempted out. Depends when, as I suspect I won't be as lucky with the MOT this year.

Anyway, sorry again for the disappearing act. I'm still not really back in circulation, but will keep half an eye on here if I can.

Congratulations to everyone with new babies, new jobs, new cars or any combination of the three :-)

Welcome back Jonny, you had us worried there. I hope all settles back down swiftly for you and you get GAZ through the test first time, this time. Congrats on the new job, I just started a new one too a few weeks ago too.

.telling people about this seriously cheap for what it is!!! Tax not that much dearer the vrs is £260 or so I think! Dunno how I missed that VRS Cormac, great reg too, I thought mine was good with 66k!! I hear you're opening a MK1 VRS specialist dealership in Lurgan lol

Yeah at least there will be plenty of other stuff at Castlewellan, be great to see a row of Octy's and Furbies there...................and of course a wee green Favorite

Hope all had a good day in whatever else you all got up to in the end. I went for a run up to the north coast and did some Skoda spotting on way back down, anyone on here?

Bought this and is great to drive. Handles better than my VRS with the 4wd and with only 150 bhp it really surprised me driving home!

Happy days, glad someone got it and I would imagine at an absolute bargain price :D Whats the story with it in recent years? I remember it first being advertised months ago having been laying up with tyres almost flat etc.

9Guy on the lisburn road had it and there was not much wrong with it when I went and looked at it. Have a service history until 72k and then just a few receipts but very original car. No marks or any issues except a slight dent on front ps wing and the interior light switch is cracked but everything else is 100%. Lovely to drive and amazing the difference the 4wd makes to the handling. Will take this to the event in June instead of the VRS.

Glad an enthusiast got it, I'm very close to isburn Rd and never remember seeing this about the road. Know someone who was interested in it but the fact it was for sale for a while was putting them off!

Health to drive dude, what are the plans for it?

Thanks. Fix up the few minor defects the car has and keep it standard and original except maybe for a set of 17 or 18" Alloys. Going to keep this car and try not to clock up to many miles on it. I will bring it to the event in June and get to meet you fellows in person.

Guy I bought it from was in the flats just past m&s and the car was kept round the back in an ally. In all fairness the guy didn't look like he had the money to fuel it never mind own it. Car definitely drives 100% and has outstanding bodywork for the age apart from the sent in the front wing and couple of scrapes on the front bumper. The eejit had dogs in the rear of the car though and hairs everywhere which are a pain to get lifted. I enjoy this 4x4 that much I am actually contemplating selling my VRS as I have to many vehicles now. This makes 7 cars and a transit van and room is becoming an issue now.

Guy had longish hair and very frizzy with glasses. He looked like a stoner to be honest and was in his mid 50s. I'll get a few pics up of the VRS and Cormac81 your more than welcome to buy the VRS as need to get rid of a 2 or 3 cars. Seriously I have no room left and cars fill the driveway, road at the front of the house, now on front lawn also and taking up the space out the front of my neighbour also

Sounds like the same guy I was thinking of, he would be a trader, usually has a nice petrol about him.

I will curtail my spending for now, well until I get the black one sold.

Not much room at the house so photos are not the best as everything a bit tight for space with cars. Could really do with selling a few cars to get some organisation back regarding space.
