Skoda fabia combi 1.4diesel

Hi 

My sister bought a 2nd hand Skoda fabia combi diesel ,50.000km & seem perfect. There is one issue who look strange to me & need afvise as it still warranty ?when you pass from 1st to 2nd gear & accelerate it take 3sec for the engine to really accelerate.it does not happen on other gears.she went to the garage & they told her that it s normal as the motor isn t powerful on 1.4l.

It sound strange to me as it really look dead for 3sec ,you can the pedal a few times during that time or rave it but it does not do anything.

Any tip guys?
