Hi all Newbe here Just got myself a 2013 octavia estate 1.6tdi elegance. 33.000. some quick questions for you,

How do i get the wing mirrors to keep the settings as my left one reset to too high and the right one too low.

Need to upgrade the sat nav, best way to do this?

Thinking of installing a tow bar best people to use and what is a good one or should i do this myself?.

Air con not very cold, i would think just need regassing.

Thank you for yor time and effort.

I had exactly the same model that you have just bought, think mine (SF63 GZN) ended up recently at a main dealership in Milton Keynes for some strange reason and has probably sold by this time. From memory the wing mirrors on my car just stayed exactly where I adjusted them to using the controls on your righthandside and only changed position if I deliberately altered them whilst trying to park the car to avoid hitting the alloy wheels off of the kerb.

As for the Sat Nav, I never actually bothered updating it on my car, Skoda have updates for the Sat Nav available online, just not sure if there are any limits on how long owners can access these. I'm sure plenty of people here will be better able to advise you on this and there have been plenty of posts on here before about how to do this, mind you depends a lot where you bought your car from, if it was from a main dealer I'd maybe ask them if they could help you get the Sat Nav up to date.

Good luck and enjoy your new car, mine was a very comfortable and economical car to own, my Yeti's seats are just not quite as comfortable as those in the Octavia!

Lucky you, the electric seats were definitely an expensive option and not standard spec! The mirrors should always remember where they were last set to and will usually fold in out of the way when you lock the car and open back out again next time in exactly the same position next time you drive it. I haven't managed to get my Yeti to do this yet, its mirrors seem to work quite differently to those in the Octavia.

With memory seats, it remembers the positron of the mirrors too. Set up the seat and mirrors then hold down the set button on the seat and then hold down 1,2 or 3 until you hear a beep. Remove the key from the ignition and press the unlock button, you should hear another beep. Now the button you pressed and the key fob will remember your seat and mirror position. This is how it works on my 2010 Superb Elegance estate.

Car in Neutral, turn on ignition, set seats and mirror as you want it. Remove key from ignition, open drivers door, press set and then 1, 2 or 3 until you hear a beep.

Then shut door turn on ignition and select reverse gear, lower mirror to how you like it when parking/reversing. Turn off ignition, remove key, open door and press set then the memory seat button you selected earlier until you hear the bing again.

Now when you go forward the seat mirrors will be in the position you selected, when you select reverse the passenger side mirror will dip to the set position and when you select A forward gear and move off  the PS mirror will go to it's forward position.

If anyone else drives the car and alters the seat just press your nunber and every thing will go back to your settings

Hope that helps.
