They must be joking, im down for the renewal with ITB, tried calling adrian flux, best quote they gave me was 5k for a 59 plate fabia 1.6, tried calling Chris knott they wont insure me at all as you have to have your license for 2 years for them to insure you. I know im a new driver but even comparison sites has given me better quotes then this. Guys any tips on how to get it cheaper? I get 1.5k with telematic box for next year and without is 2.5k.

Take a look at Martyn Lewis Money Expert website.

He has a section on car insurance. Gives tips how to reduce costs and lists companies not on comparison sites as well as young driver specialists.

When my lads were younger I saved serious cash for them but you have to put the groundwork in.

Good luck

Add older more experienced drivers as additional drivers as long as you know they're not high risk.

They don't need to be relatives.

I added my car-share mate to mine just the other week. I expected it to go up a bit but actually came down £2. The direction of the change was more of a surprise than the amount.

Checking your job title is another one. Some jobs carry lots more risk than others (if your a professional sportsman or a journalist you're screwed though).

They don't need to be relatives. - and they don't even have to drive the car - ever

Yup, it's a pain but we all go through it.

It's a fickle beast, sometimes the things you think that are obvious premium reducers like having you car parked on your drive overnight can sometimes put it up! (easier to steal apparently)

At 28, i'm just starting to see my insurance come down... not helped by the fact I drive one of the most stolen cars in the UK! My premium near halved this year when I renewed it yesterday... thank you Shelia's Wheels!! :D
