Clutch release arm spring

Recommended Posts

I have noticed on some felicia's that there is a spring attatched to the top of the clutch release arm. Skoda describe it as a tension spring.

My felicia seems to be missing this spring.

Is it a critical part? And why do some models have it, and others not?

P.S I have noticed that there are two types of release arm.

Same here. Do you have a photo of a Felicia clutch lever having that spring?

Actually there are three types of lever.

002141704 140 mm length for 10.94 - 01.96 Felicia (engine codes:135B,136B, 135) -
002141704 G 160 mm length for Felicia after 02.96 except 1.9D
002141704 C 160 mm length for Felicia 1.9D

No photo, but it can be seen in the haynes manual in chapter 3, picture 4.4b on a 1.3Mpi engine and picture 6.8a on a 1.6 engine

It can also be seen in chapter 5B in pictures 6.12a - 6.12c.

Reference is also made to removing it in chapter 6.

I think it can only fitted to the longer lenght leavers.

I think you might know it already but the spring, part number is 6U0141755

I will see if a can find a photo from a car for sale ad with a spring.

Well... I don't own one. Not that I'd need it. That spring's function is mysterious indeed.
