High Fuel Consumption

Hello,

 

first of all sorry for my English...

 

strange thing: Everything has been going well with my Rapid until it visit in the local service center for clutch check.

After this check the fuel consumption in the city almost double itself (current consumption is 7.5KM\L).

outside the city everything is great so i am guessing it is something related to the gear and not the engine.

 

i went there 2 times but each time i am getting the same answer: "we cant find what is wrong, according to the computer all works fine"

 

maybe someone knows what can be the problem? i am so frustrated...

Welcome to the forum.

Best say what engine the car has, petrol or diesel or other and how many miles covered.

?

Did anything get done when the clutch was checked, and why was it being checked, what was wrong?

?

Was some Software Update done when the car was in?

Thank you for your quick response.

 

1. petrol 1.4 TSI  

2. around 65,000 km (40,000 miles)

3. when i bought the car from the car dealer he suggest that after few weeks we will take the car for this check just to be on the safe side that everything is ok.

    he mentioned that the clutch in skoda's are a bit sensitive.

4. i don't really knows whats done when the car was there, other then according to the service center they checked the car and they found nothing wrong.

Was this at a Skoda Main Dealership?

 

Your car is due a major service, so Spark Plugs and an Airfilter replaced.    

Has that been done already?  

Or at least checked?

 

You need to ask when if on the Diagnostics they applied a Skoda / VW Software update, they may have.  Ask in writing.
