Bluetooth unit to work with modern phones

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a 2010 superb with a Bluetooth module

Trying to connect my one plus 5 to it seems to be a minefield.

The phone thinks it's connected, the car doesn't, and although the phone thinks it paired, it won't connect after.

Does anyone have any idea if a more modern Bluetooth unit will allow me to connect.

Cheers

Hi,

Wasn't sure what numbers you needed, so I have attached a pic if the unit.

It won't let me one plus 5 connect at all, and it looks like I would only get phone, as I can't see any Bluetooth audio option in the menus

Thanks

Change the Bluetooth module for 5N0 035 730 D and you'll have hands free profile to connect.

Don't buy one of the cheap ones off Ebay from China as they're different functions compared to the EU spec ones, despite being the same part number.

Ebay seems to be devoid of those.

Any suggestions of the best place to get one?

Try 3c8 035 730 a, b, c, d, e. The a is equivalent to the one rustynuts highlighted. d or e are best as they offer premium fuctions with rsap (in case you end up with a phone that supports it). However all work with whats called hfp which is what you need now. If there is no suffix letter its equivalent to what you have now so dont be tempted there!

As rusty says the module will probably need coding but the physical connections are the same. Also without coding, it may even work for calls and media streaming as the coding options inside the BT module are generally about formatting the phone book and setting up premium functions. Its an easy job anyway. If you are anywhere near South East Wales give me a shout.
