I just posted this so you are aware of it.  Not to worry you

Maybe save the worry and have a mechanic look at it because guessing what it is will not sort out the rattle.

Not likely to be a timing chain or anything else major, but best find out what it is sooner than later.  Stitch in time.

Copy that!

I'll try to book it in ASAP tomorrow.

So the dealer confirmed that the timing chain has stretched.

Will be speaking to dealer regarding it soon. Covered under Skoda good will and ŠKODA extended Warranty.

Hey mate,

Got the same issue with our 2013 vrs, mechanic thinks it’s a stretch timing chain. Seems to be a common problem. Was think of applying for Skodas good will cover as we had luck when it was using heaps of oil. Any tips trying to get it covered ?

Welcome.

All you can do is try.

It is a 'known issue', known to the VW Group, so to VW, Skoda, SEAT and Audi.

An issue with the 1.4 TSI / TFSI 132-136kw Twinchargers from 2012-2014.

If Skoda UK SEnior Communications Managers or Resolution Managers say not known at Skoda UK Customer Services, ask them to talk to the CEO in the UK Rod McLeod.

He has been with VW since 1998, if he does not know then where was he for the past 6 years.

They know how many warranty claims there were.
