Estate electric tailgate struts

Recommended Posts

Greetings all.

My 2010 electric tailgate has failed to proceed.

Replacement cost is AUD$1300 per side:sweat:

Was there a recall on these at any stage?

Does any body know of an after market supplier that wont cost close to 20% of the cars value?

Cheers

They are about 500Euro each if purchased from overseas.  Easisest way is to find the partno and start googling  or try skodaparts in NZ

You could also retrofit back to manual lifts for about AUD200

There is a 2010 Superb estate being wrecked in Taupo NZ at the moment.

Unsure if it has the electric boot option.

The ones on our car were replaced a few years ago, and if it happens again I will be converting it to a 'manual' boot, due to the horrific cost. See invoice below, Skoda NZ helped out with the cost of the parts even though the car was outside of warranty. Still not cheap!

Good luck.

Matt

Thanks Matt.

Waiting to hear back on that one.

I've got supply and replace costs down to just on $2000 AUD:blink::sweat::dry:

I may be upgrading so i am hanging off on the motor servos at this stage as i definitely wont be getting that 2k back!

I really miss the electro struts but the replacement is ridiculous. I might just go for gas until i can jag some second hand...then keep my fingers crossed!

Maybe show your dealer my receipt and say "look even those bloody kiwis get a discount from their dealers, why can't you?!"

Good luck!
