Is it a DQ200?

There has been a lot of speculation on this forum about whether the 7 speed 1.5TSi DSG is a DQ200 7 or not. Is there a code in the car or a VCDS tweak that will reveal the type of DSG gearbox it is?

I am in the DQ200 camp myself.

Forgot I had an admap - found this:-

DQ's all over the shop!

DQ or not DQ that is the question.

You could check the build sticker on the car or in the service record book.  I think the DQ200 code is 0EG or 0AM.

I can't see why they'd fit any other transmission to the 1.5tsi

Neither can I but so many are speculating because of problems with several hundred out of 1.5+ million made and poor PR by VW.

Looks like it is DQ200 given the code appearing in a few of those lines. Makes sense, the 7 speed wet clutch only appears in the higher end models with larger engines - in the Octavia's case, only the 245 VRS - That wet clutch box seems overkill for the 1.5tsi.

^^^ Well it appears in the Golf 1.5TSI EVO 150ps,  so very very surprising if it never got into the Octavia, and shocks me.

Seeing as the DQ200 World Wide Recall / European Service Campaign resolved nothing as some built later are failing hence 'Campaign 34H5' required.

Many thousands of DQ200 with issues, not hundred.

Millions recalled and extended warranty, but that was pre 2013 ones, since still hundred of ones from different factories.

ŠKODA Vrchlabí plant_ 500,000th DQ 200 transmission - Site & Motoring News - BRISKODA.mhtml

The DQ200 can be perfectly fine with an engine putting out over 200 ps when there is a remap or tuning box and 300 Nm as 1.4 TSI Twincharger Owners know,

even though VW had the last 1.8TSI Polo GTI 192 ps with the Manual seemingly at 320n Nm and and the DQ200 DSG at 250 Nm.

The DSG car was and is still quicker,  kidology from VW

EDIT<

SORRY>

Looks like i have totally duff gen on the 1.5TSI ACT EVO Golf DSG. totally lost now, will check tomorrow with VW Master Tech.

I'll only believe the wet 7speed DSG is installed in the Golf 1.5TSI EVO 150ps when the published torque output for the engine exceeds 250Nm.

Or when VW/Skoda announce it themselves.

Makes no difference anyway, both have 7 gears change gear automatically or manually, and there is a warranty for 3 years and if keeping longer get a warranty.

No oil change every 40,000 miles with a DQ200.

Thousands.

Failure rate is outside the norm.

@RajaStyleI replied to the other thread you posted in.

The 1.4 TSI will have a DQ200 7 Speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG.

Check if service campaign '34h5' was needed and done since 2017 on DQ200's from 2013-2015.

If a Skoda, 180ps / 250 Nm or less and FWD on a 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.8 TSI or a 1.2, 1.4 or 1.6 TDI they are DQ200 DSG's 2009-2022.  *Except maybe a Kodiaq or a PHEV. *

Or If 192 PS / 250 Nm or under (VW Polo GTI 1.8 TSI)

@roottootThanks I must have missed that alert, checked the service history no mention on 34h5, just standard oil & filter changes.  It is a late Nov 2015 1.4 tsi DSG done 45k so low miles 250 Nm 147bhp from main dealer.

So from what you have said it would be a dq200 dry clutch, I know the majority of issues published worldwide seem to be up to 2012 ... any ideas if much was done to remediate later dq200 2015 etc or just as prone to faults and may cause a big expense later on.

You are missing much then because up to 2012 was dealt with pretty well. Sadly 2012/13 not so.

Then as to '34h5' 2013-2015, not dealt well with 2017 on.  But a 3rd recall started in Australia in 2019.

http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions

Check if it was required or not and outstanding or not.  Not that Skoda UK has much of a clue quite often.

PS.

If '34H5' was done the sticker should be in the spare tyre well.

If the DQ200 is OK now after many years on the road then good.
