Driver door dead lock woes

Teaman

Recommended Posts

My central locking has been a problem for a while on the passenger side not always locking or unlocking but this is a new one.

the drivers door unlocks (thingy goes up and down)

but the lever inside the car does nothing. No resistance at all.

The outside handle is similar.

ove a feeling it’s died a death which I’ve accepted and ordered a new lock from flea bay as I’ve decided it’s time to let go and move on but need to sort the door As it won’t be until after xmas.

the big question is.

How the hell do I open the door?

I know how to do everything else. This is the replacement for when my micro switch died,

Any ideas or links are appreciated.

You usually have to try and get the trim off in place, and then break the lock into a million bits, until you can fracture the deadlock mechanism and it opens. A fairly brutal way of doing, and not the easiest job.

@Teaman Theres other threads with guides, if you go down the list.

Same method applies to all the doors.

No brutality needed if you take your time ;)

This one is quite good for the door stripping...

Then more recent threads about doors locked on how to release the lock without a hammer..
