Yep another thread, mercs come to a stop till early next year so got this to tinker with.

Brought off one of my mates who did two auto solos in it last year and about 200miles. He doesn’t have the time to use it.

Bonus for me.

Specs are

1999 normal 1.8 Petrol 140bhp ish

Non ABS model

No air con

new roof this year

electric windows that’s it

various bits deleted

charcoal canistor, egr etc

Meister R 32way adjustable Suspension (done 200miles) :0

Some kind of stainless exhaust (yet to get under it properly)

Rota Alloys and Parada spec2 tyres again done 200odd miles.

Its had most of the rusty structural stuff welded, just showing the usual bits on arches

He included a Torsen Limited slip Diff too so I’ll get to fit that at some point :)

Picked her up yesterday a epic road trip from Woking way to York lol

Good cleaning session today before it gets too cold here.

Meguirs quickwax to start as it wasn’t too dirty.

then Carbon collectives Speciale ceramic sealant applied.

Tyres treated with carbon collective sateen rubber protector,

still got got to seal the wheels and coilovers and roof next week

Shines up pretty nice minus the rusty rear arches lol

Got my private plate on and fitted a mechless Sony headunit as it didn’t have a stereo in it.

Fitted some Poly Engine Mounts today and sorted out the wonkey tailpipe on the exhaust. The mounts are very harsh I hope they settle lol my teeth will fall out. The exhaust tip being wonkey was because it had twisted where it was u clamped behind the axle, so a couple of spot welds and it’s all sorted now

Changed the gaitors on the gearshifter as it was split and I could hear the engine through the center console lol, also changed the nylon shifter bushing that came in a kit :), should have a carbon center console here this week as I got sent the wrong one initially. And got a new gear knob to go on. And an original air box setup

Those gaitors never seem to last long and I was going to ask if you did not but it looks like you did...   Nice one!

CAI looks interesting and similar to the Loch Stewart / Randall / AutoExe set ups, drawing high pressure air from over the scuttle.  Been thinking of doing something similar but would have to be a one-off DIY job for mine as my ABS unit sits on that side of the bulkhead and no-one seems to make a CAI to suit...

Fitted the washer bottle relocation kit this morn, excellent quality kit, hand made in uk from DaveFab.

air intake physically fits but the intake length tube is a couple of inches too short, so there currently redoing one for me. It’s the First time anyone’s tried fitting it to a mk2 :)
