How is the this possible? :)

Recommended Posts

Difficult to tell, but it almost looks like a tiny clip or component of some sort - suspiciously regular looking holes in it, which at that size might be machine made. I’d take it to the dealer & ask if something has fallen out.

Then again...maybe I should have gone to Specsavers.

Find an instrument repair specialist locally.

They will be able to whip the glass off, remove the spider or whatever, and hopefully  for the price of a drink.

You cant easily, remove the glass, its not technicaly a spare part, its one unit. Its not hermetically sealed unit so muck can find its way in.

I dont know if it is removable though,  i did look into this and it appears there is plastic locking tabs that may break if you try to remover the glass.

This effectively means you would have to buy new instrument cluster.

On my last vRS (Mk2) I had a failed LED in the cluster.

A specialist near Portsmouth replaced the LED in 30 mins.

I guess my point is that, if you have the necessary knowledge / skill, you can get into and re-seal the instrument cluster quickly & easily.
