I got mine through a link on these forums from Mike at Listers, worth dropping him an email with what you want, good prices and delivered flat in a big box.

Will do, thanks!!

Thanks for the tip.

Asked him about the proper boot mat, which seems in short supply over here so far:thumbup:

Other differences are that the Karoq is probably a lot cheaper to own (purchase, service, insure), and that it is a foot shorter. The BM is of course better built and will be much more fun to drive. People will see the Skoda badge and think the car is owned by a penny-pinching old-codger who drives everywhere at 10mph below the speed limit. People will see the BM badge and think far worse:biggrin:. I rather miss my old 3-Series, but not the £300 minor / £480 major-service cost.

fair analyses, however I would say that service pack still provides good value to mitigate expensive servicing and like any cars there are ****ers that spoil our reputation. I think when people say BMW's are expensive to repair is not true, based on our exprince for example with Ford Fiesta.

On paper Karoq looks reasonable to service but I don't know about repairs yet

I thought I had bought a quality car 12 years ago when I got a brand new C320 Mercedes estate. It turned out to be one of the biggest loads of expensive rubbish I have ever owned. By contrast, my last Skoda was probably the best car I have ever had. I had 2 previous Mercs, but they were built before the accountants took over. Servicing was ok then as well, but when all the local dealers were closed down and the business was moved to a s****y glass palace, the cost of my servicing trebled. In those days if you went to a non-authorised dealer your warranty was invalidated, but if I had known the car would only start going wrong within weeks of the warranty ending I would have used  a non-authorised repair shop instead for services. Repairs were always very expensive and even when I found a repair shop that specialised in Mercs, often the parts were not available to anybody but an authorised dealership. You pay for the name, but it doesn't necessarily mean it will be worth it.

Thought of the next thing to change: those embarrassing SKODA door lights  :D

I like them. Easily deleted with a bit of electrical tape.

Wonder if you could put a different word or picture in there?

think they have a little silhouette disk which slides in front of the light to make the logo. Will have to investigate if that can just be popped out, leaving a blank light.

Had a go with this resource

...for a proper karoq boot mat. 22% off the accessories list price and free delivery

Will post back when I get it (and the car to put it in turns up).

Ordered one of these: https://www.rewiresecurity.co.uk/db3-odb-gps-tracking-device-glonass - obviously any thief worth their salt would find and remove it or even block the signal, but it gives some piece of mind still.

Also a boot liner, as soon as Titan or BootBuddy make one for the Karoq.

This looks great, i think i might look to get one. We should get our Karoq in a week or 2 so fingers crossed.

Do you know what costs are involved after the OBD box is bought? i have my own sim card with all required data built it.

cheers

Bookmarked that. But I do  think the best deterrent for our new car will be the big round thing on the bonnet. And I'm a big fan of Skoda. This will be our third.

I suppose even the thick scrotes will eventually wise up to the marque.

They look pretty good.  Never had them before, do they reduce the wind noise on the motorway?  I found it fairly noisy when I went out recently in the Karoq.
