Anybody experienced Mapping by Performance Torque?

Featured Replies

I am looking at getting my Octavia stage one mapped and have heard of a company called Performance Torque based in Wolverhampton. Has anyone had their car mapped there and what experience have you had with your car afterwards? I am after more power of course, but want that power put down in a smooth linear way.

Just asking this question again, anybody used this remap service on their Skoda and what review can you give me please.

I'll let you know in 3 weeks as I'm booked in with him.

Seems like a nice dude and has provided plenty of information on his process and what to expect - slots are 2.5 hours and he confirms the map is built to the car as opposed to a 15 min flash like many were offering

Your review would be good Gissin, as I can't make up my mind whether to try this one, or pay a lot more for the Racingline one on a rolling road at £650. I just want to avoid making any sort of mistake in the choice I eventually make.

yeah I thought about that, from what I gather it's a shark remap as Ben now works for racing line.

I was considering it but with the distance and the cost went against it, the info from will and the reviews decided this sounded good.

keep you posted ..3 weeks to go

Cheers mate. I had a Shark remap on my previous car, an Octavia VRS TSI MK2 and was very happy with it. It was done at Unit 18 Milton Keynes. I have however heard of Will when he was with Shark. Are you getting it done in Wolverhampton on their rolling road?

It always seems a lot longer to wait when you are so looking forward to getting it done. You may have read on another post I made regarding Racingline maps and are they worth the extra money. I decided to go with Racingline in the end and had it done yesterday. The car is now running 329bhp with 499nm of torque. Boy am I happy. Let us all know how your car feels after being mapped.

yeah I saw that post - so your car went from 230 - 329?  that's a huge jump if stock, did you get a print out?

where was it you got it done ?

VW Group Specialists Swindon. A garage with a lot of excellent reviews. They said they send the printouts via email, as well as possibly putting a video of my car on social media.  The first run on their dyno showed in his words, a very healthy car. As usual with these TSI motors, it was running from the factory with more than the 230hp Skoda state. That gave them a good starting point. Might post the printout on here when I get it.

so thought I'd update.

really nice premises very clean and professional, free  Coffee/Tea, water, TV and even an xbox to keep you busy while waiting  , Will is a thoroughly nice dude and spent the time to explain what he was doing and what effect that has on the car and spent a good 2.5 hours on the car getting it to where he was happy utilising multiple dyno runs ( print out shows 7 runs in total)

ended up with 228bhp and 431nm.

I have since driven around 250 miles an I can honesty say he's done a great job!  the curve is super smooth and the pull is very linear the car drives really nice now much better than before , power when requested is almost instant, there's no hesitation, no clutch slip,  the traction control light hasn't even come on (granted I've not given it the beans yet)  and as an added bonus the mpg seems better too it ran 63.8mpg on the way home! and on the commute this morning normally gets high 40's but today ended at 53mpg.

Overall I'm really happy with it and the job Will has done, I highly recommend him and won't hesitate taking my next car to him- I definitely wont be waiting as long next time!
