NOT IMPRESSED. Took VRS to them for warranty work with electrical problems. Some eight days later unable to fix it fully. State 'we need a new wiring loom which we dont have and have to order in. You can collect the car but we'll just disable the key fob locking mechanism' Re-book later when we have the part'

Not once have they offered a courtesy car!

0/10 customer service.

:) I have just bought a New Octavia TDi from Allams.

The deal including Part Ex was very well priced. Sales staff were willing to spend time before and after deposit placed and had a sound knowledge of the product.

Very friendly, with a good customer focus, So far so good

Allams have only recently become a Skoda dealership. They've recruited a very knowledgable and helpful salesman called Geoff Garner who's worked at another Skoda dealership.

I went to look at the Roomster. Although I made it clear to him, and another salesman, that I wouldn't be considering buying within 9 months, and wasn't sure if Skoda had the car for me in their range, they couldn't have been more helpful. Appparently they see customer service as an investment. I'll certainly use them if I decide to buy a Skoda.

I bought my second hand Octavia vRS from them a few weeks ago. I was very pleased with the sales experience. The car has just started making a strange sound I'd like to get checked out, so I guess I'm going to experience their after-sales service soon.

Took my car to another Skoda dealer instead, who diagnosed the problem as being due to a crocodile clip not being tightened up correctly. Last people to do work on the car were Allams with a pre-sales service and cambelt change - I guess they're still getting used to Skodas.

*****Highly Recommended*******

Today I took deliever of my new 4x4 2.0TDi from Allams.

Since placing the order they have kept me updated with progress, they were competitive on price with internet sites. Sales staff had a very pleasant and helpful attitude throughout. They have made this purchase very straight forward.

They have been knocked by others on this thread, for sales I can only recommend them.

The aftersales service well I'll have to wait and see, but from those staff I have dealt with so far I feel confident they will get it right.

In the interests of balance, I want to post our experience of Allams.

We've just had our Octy vRS serviced there - the first under our variable plan.

They knew the price without consultation, knew what oil to put in(!) and have done a professional job including a good clean all round.

They also had the forethought to check a recall item, which tuned out not to have been done on our car, and fixed that.

The service manager was very friendly and helpful, and he said they now have two dedicated, Skoda-trained technicians working there.

So there you go - it doesn't justify previous errors or bad service, but maybe they've learned their lesson?

I have also had good service so far from Allams. I was impressed with the sales experience when I bought the car from them last year. Just had the 2 year/20,000 mile service done and have no complaints. They quoted the price straight away when I phoned to book, a courtesy car or transport was offered, they've used the correct oil and everything was very friendly and efficient. They phoned me shortly afterwards with a customer service questionaire and offered me £25 off next year's service. Definitely recommended.

Sorry to say I've had a very bad experiance with Allams. They just serviced my Octavia and informed mw that my rear pads and disks required changing. I gave them the OK to carry out the work.

The Handbraked failed to hold my car on my drive and it rolled into my car the very next day. The Handbrake was fully applied as I had done for the past 3 years and 50,000 miles without any problems.

I phoned Allams and complained then returned my car to Allams who then made me wait nearly 4 hours whilst they inspected it? They then claimed it had nothing wrong with it and it must of been my fault? They explained the 4 hour inspection was due to them giving my car a courtesy valay.

They denied any wrong doing and as I had not had an independent report done there was nothing I could prove. The handbrake now works perfectly as it had done before the service of course.

Just to rub salt into the wound the Valay must of been carried by a nine year old with a muddy bucket of water.

The reputation of Allams as a Vauxhall service centre was poor and now they are no better with Skoda.

Please note they also charge for parts not changed too.

I recommend that you aviod Allams of Epsom for any service work on your Skoda.:thumbdwn:

I am a motability customer and the roomster was on my shortlist of suitable cars available to me. I arrived at Allams unannounced on a busy Saturday morning dressed to unimpress! (I had just taken my son to a very messy sports site and was in muddy jeans and sweat shirt). I was greeted in a cordial and correct manner, and on finding out I was a motability customer was offered a seat and a coffee as the accreditied salesman (Geoff Garner) was busy with another customer. This was fine for us, and we took the time to look at the Roomster on display. As soon as he was free Geoff came over to us, appologised for the wait, and allowed me to explain my needs and worries regarding the roomster. (I am disabled and have very particular needs regarding the layout of the car) It turned out that Allams had a roomster in the version we wanted (Roomster2 1.4 in Ocean Blue) in their storage compound. Although it was a Saturday, and they were a bit tight staff wise geoff offered to get that car out and let me test drive it! As I had a prior engagement we agreed on a 2pm test drive (it was then 10am). I went off to my other engagement (more on that elsewhere) and returned almost an hour late, due to my inexperience in london traffic! geoff was again dealing with another customer. The sales manager (sorry I forgot his name) who admitted to being an Alfa specialist asked if we would be happy for him to take us on our test drive, and any outstanding questions we could ask of geoff on our return. I was impressed with the fact that our "host" for the test drive admitted that he would not be able to answer all my questions as he was not the Skoda expert. (As a motability customer I have met many Arthur Dayleys who think that a wheelchair or a pair of crutches = no brain, so we can be fed Bullsh*t until it come out of our ears).

To cut the long story short, we saw Geoff on our return, and we decided to order the car there and then. I have to stress that there was no preasure to buy this car, or any other for that matter, and Geoff understood that because of my physical needs I had to see the competition! the competition left wanting in many ways, so the roomster it is! I have to admit that I wont be experiencing too much of Allams after sales service as I live quite away from them, and will have to take it to another closer dealership for service. (My local dealer is not motability accredited, and can't sell the car to me). For pre sales service I can only give a 10/10, even while I was "just browsing".

Just to finish my report on my "Allams Experience". The car was ready well before the arranged delivery date, and throughout the "purchase process" Geoff kept me very well informed of all the progress. On the collection day I was collected at the station (having first made sure that I would be OK sitting in the car I was picked up in) and taken to the dealership. I was welcomed, not simply as a customer rather as an old friend! The car had been prepped and was ready and waiting. We got through the miles of burocratic paperwork involved in the Motability system, and I was on my way! (I also noted that between my arrival and driving away someone had taken the trouble to remove the free gift left on the roof by an errant seagull!) I wont be needing a new car now for 3 years, but when I do I sure hope that Allams can still supply my next one too!

I've bought 2 cars from Geoff at Allams now. A Mk1 Octy vRS (traded my Fabia vRS for it) and then a new Mk2 Octy vRS. Geoff was fantastic throughout, as were all the other staff I had dealings with (the sales manager and one of the Alfa guys). Geoff even invited me a couple of times on a trip to the Nurburgring with other vRS customers! I didn't feel pressured into buying anything, and he was able to quote any figures and answer any questions I had off the top of his head.

The car's due for its first service now, and as long as they can sort me a courtesy car then it'll be going to allams on the basis that I have faith in Geoff managing to sort any problems that may or may not occur...

10/10 for sales though!

I would just like to voice the same words that have been said about GEOFF GARNER. A very informative and professional person. Even though I was only after advice about a purchase I had made from ****** SKODA ******* he was very helpful and assisted me to such a degree that I will definitely use ALLAMS in the future.

Popped in today after visiting "that place" in Ewhurst and I was pleasantly surprised, the sales lady was busy with another customer at the time of my arrival, but once she'd finished with them, offered me a seat and asked all the right questions and she gave me all the right answers too. She really knew her stuff!

Put me completely at ease & made me feel welcome & proved that she wanted my custom.

Helped me choose options and everything, she's going to email me back with all of the finance details etc in the next 48hrs.

This is how it should be done.

10/10 so far for Allams. :orb_cool:

Shocking and bitterly disapointed is all I can say. The sales side of things was just "odd" in that they just did not want to sell me a car even though I had a cash deposit with me! Even took a test drive and no one got back to me despite e-mails I sent.

So, fast forward a month or so, took my motor in for an alarm problem, they said they cannot find the fault, it does'nt record anything and there are no fault codes. Also asked them to do a few other bits which they forgot.

Got the car back having left it there the whole day (no loan car), found they had done nothing, were'nt interested in doing anything else and when I got into the car, found the pull over cover hanging down and snagged in one corner. Total lack of respect.

They were suppose to call me back as the alarm was still playing up but never did, they just kept wanting me to leave the car with them.

Anyway, took it to another dealer, took them just 10mins to find the fault (which WAS logged), said Allams did a poor job and should have found the simple fault.

Having spoken to others on this fourm and friends, I'm not the only one. I just don't think they are equiped and have the knowledge to be a Skoda Dealer, I also found them rude and abrupt, failed to even say hello to me after standing there for several minutes and often left me hanging on the phone listening to silence. I shall be using another dealer which is quite some distance from me, but I am confident they can do the job.

Unimprressed unfortunately. Warrenty work needed doing. Damaged paint and plastic trim on return. Half the work not completed. They forgot despite taking the apparent "engineer" through the issues. Skoda customer care got involved. Skoda customer care, after many calls, apologised for their appauling service admitting even they seemed unable to get a satisfactory response and suggested visiting another garage. Beware, these people will be great selling you a car but if its serviceing or warrenty work findanother dealer.

I emailed James at Allams about the yet to be released Yeti one Saturday morning after seeing his posts on Briskoda. I immediately got a reply and invite to call in and discuss my requirements. Allams are far from being my nearest dealer but I reckoned that if James was taking time to contribute on Briskoda then they are obviously keen to do business.

My first visit was when the CZ pre-production Yeti was visiting (James emailed me to let me know the date) and despite a number of vistors, I was immediately greeted by James and made to feel most welcome. James kept me informed of the Yeti release dates and in particular the CR170 which I was interested in. I placed an order as soon as it was possible to do so. The deal included trading in my Fabia vRS and Skoda finance. James instantly came up with the figures and a deal that was most acceptable.

My Yeti build date coincided with the Skoda vehicle tracking system changeover which resulted in a news blackout but that wasn't a dealer fault. My only criticism was a couple of times I asked for an update and I didn't receive one - in fairness it was because they had no news. Once I explained I'd like to hear from them if requested or promised even if there was no news, communication was fine - by both email and phone.

Both Beth and James kept me very well informed of progress when the car had left the factory and did their utmost to get the car to me as quickly as possible and it was PDI'd very quickly despite a huge number of cars arriving following the tracking system changeover. James even took time to email me pictures of my Yeti as it cam off the transporter. The car was presented in an immaculate condition and I had a thorough pre-departure briefing.

Overall, I feel the sales staff are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Skodas and there was zero pressure to buy. They showed an interest in both me and my car and made me feel valued as a customer. James is most definitely a 'petrol head' and loves chatting about cars. His boss, Jeff Allam, is fairly keen too - after a life racing Touring Cars!

On the after sales side of things, I took my Fabia vRS there for its MOT, having already agreed the Yeti deal witht he fabia as a part-ex. I took the opportunity whilst the car was in to take out their Yeti demonstrator. The service staff were very friendly and the car was ready very quickly. I have yet to have the Yeti serviced there but I will be taking it there when the time comes.

Thumbs up from me for Allams of Epsom. emoticon-0144-nod.gif

I bought my Octavia VRS from Allams of Epsom this time last year, and must say that I have been very pleased with the service I have recieved so far.

I chose Allams after trying several other Skoda dealers that were alot closer to home, and was very unimpressed by the lack of interest in doing a deal. I would much rather drive the 70 miles to Allams than deal with the lack of proffesionalism at my local dealers.

James is a very helpful salesmen, who put very little pressure on me to buy a car.

The service department have been very helpful, and have so far done 2 flawless services. I also took the car in for some warranty work with my noisy aircon pump, and was pleased by the speed and ease they diagnosed the problem.

Overall a very happy customer!

***************************

I have never dealt with the service department at Allams but i can offer my opinion of the sales department, specifically James. So i thought i would quickly share my positive experience, I bought my car in October 2008. I had been looking for a few weeks and James contacted me via PM after he had seen me asking questions on the forum. Although he made first contact he was never pushy, he was genuinely offering answers to my questions, which he promptly did. James answered the many (many, many) questions i had, talked me through the finance, provided me with figures for all the variations i asked for regarding the finance. As i live in S Wales all the fomalities were completed on the phone or by e-mail which meant that on the day of collecting the car i was able to show up, sign on the dotted line and drive away. Since the purchase he has made regular contact to check that i am happy with the car, so all in all i am very happy, friendly, low pressure service and the dealer who could get closest to the DTD price also.
