Featured Replies

Hi ALL

Have a fabia VRS in black coming this wednesday :)

Thinking of getting more power :) ..

What is the best route to take, Don't want to screw the warrenty :)

How quick are the motors as std . figs say 0 to 60 in around 10sec. ?

and with a power hike to say 150- 180 bhp what sort of fig can i expect to get ?

Looking forward to spending many hours on the bbs and meeting some of u lot at a get together of sorts :D

Cheers

ps never even took the car for a spin , bought it on a hunch at the weekend. hope i have done the right thing.

Then don't do it until warranty runs out if you're that worried.

Congrats, I dont think you'll be disappointed, and you may even be surprised at its performance as standard.

If you are worried about warranty, then as Quinten said, dont do it till it expires.

The 0-60 time is pretty modest, when its run in, its turning in around 8.5 - 9 second runs standard. Also, people are reporting up to 150 bhp standard when its run in, and tested on rollers (and 250 lb ft).

You should enjoy it.

Hi I've just joined and I've got a fabia vRS in silver...and it goes like stink done 1200 miles in it. Once it hits 1900 revs all hell breaks loose and the grin begins. Also my dad's bought one so I'll get a piccy of them both together. I've found a good web site for tuning all VW related cars and it's http://www.auto-amd.com/fabiars.asp

go there and drool at the stats

standard 0-60 is 9.6 seconds IIRC, and chipped, with 180BHP I think its about 8 seconds flat on average.

And "hunches" are the best way to buy a car. I'm all for getting "a feeling" (oo-er) about a car, be it just from a brochure or TV advert, and buying on impulse. I did that with my first Fabia while I was still in my final year at uni. Revision? Nah, I was busy reading up on and ordering a Skoda.

Welcome Heinz :D

Enjoy your car, everyone else enjoys theirs.

(although does anyone apart from me, Graeme and Ade have a Fabia vrs that is not in silver or black???)

The best route is as Q says, but the way to have an undetectable mod is with a tuning box as it plugs in line and can be removed with out any damage to the ECU or Engine and takes only 5 minutes, the downside is that you get a lot of smoke.

I never drove my car before I picked it up either, and was amazed at how quick it felt.

where can i find out about a plug in box for the fabia vrs and does it leave any traces its been there and ive got a red fabia :)

Ignore the 0-60 time for the Fabia vRS

Too much torque to get down on the tarmac to get a decent time :P

I suspect the 20-80 time would be very impressive

i have a standard furby vrs and i have had it for a few weeks and i am loving it, as others have said its a very quick car especialy if you slam it into third and plant your foot to the floor, licence loosing speeds come up very quickly trust me, some stats i found when i was reading up about it, the vrs has more torque than a porche boxter, a higher top speed than a lotus elise 1.8 and it does 0-60 quicker than an alfa 166 2.0 ltr twin spark.

a good review can be found in the articles section here http://www.dieselcar.com/

well thats now seven compared to 100 black and silver :D

For a plug in box, just but a copy of diesel car, they advertise all the time. I got mine from www.tdperformance.co.uk and although it is not as much power as i would have liked it is useful when peolpe behind drive up my backside (batmobile smoke machine effect).

They plug in between the ECU and the Injector mcontroller and basically tell the injectors to pump more fuel. All you do is take out the multi plug, insert the boxes multi plug and then place the ECU multiplug in the othe end of the tuning box. There may be power wires to put on the battery, but it is a literal 5 minute job and the dealer will need never know;)
