When I picked up my Octavia 245 from day 1 I had the Start Stop Error.  Reading on here I could see it could have been a number of things. If the message came up I would just switch off the ignition and it would disappear.  Because I always turn it off I wasn't in  a rush to get it sorted but finally got it fixed.   The reason for the the error was defect software from the factory and there is a TPI for the fix which provides an update.   This apparently effects some of
